A good read but the fundamental weakness of the story is that the character of Traci is just too stupid to make it believable that they would have been married for 25 years.

Excellent real life feel to it as many divorces happen this way weather it’s the hubby or wife who is cheating. It’s common sense that the new different feelings you get when fucking someone new . A former coworker who after college worked for a large firm . He from almost first month was fucking woman in the company and he said it was never this easy , not even on college. Most married and 3/4 of them older . They were energetic wild fucks and willing to try it all . He said his best was a year in and she was second from top in seniority. I read and commented on this story 25 days or so ago, re-read it today, and would like to add a couple small things. First, it's still a 5 in my book. Second, there was an error in my original comments comparing this fine story to "The Thunderbolt" (another fine Hook). I was wrong about Mike's last name in this one (McGowan) being the same as Greg's loyal second wife in "Thunderbolt" - hers was McDonald. My bad. And finally, I'd like to comment on an anon comment posted 20 days ago, in which said anon criticizes H57 for the recurring Traci, comparing that unfavorably to Vandemonium1's recurring Dave Brown, giving Van the Man props for being "a great original writer" (yes, he is), while stating that Hooked is not. My comment on that is this. Both are fine writers in my view, with different strengths. Vandemonium1 is brilliant in coming up with original plot twists, and so while one knows that nearly every time out, the cheating wife will get burned, and Dave will come out alright, the how's are always a surprise. Hooked, on the other hand, is a reliably comfortable storyteller. His tales are often familiar, sweet and just. Just a few examples include "Second-Hand Barbie," "When One Door Closes..." and "A Promise Made, A Vow Broken." Why not enjoy both?

A story as it should be. Selfish cheaters with delusional thoughts usually end up alone. What is the purpose of chasing sex with several partners? I could never understand when a wife cheat and tells the audience that "it only sex". What that means is the cheater is using this to justify being a slut. She salves what little conscientious she has by lying to herself. No spouse should ever stay with a selfish cheater and this attitude is the turning point.

The "best sex I ever had" is entirely mental and has way more to do with the danger of discovery, the cheating, the fact that it's illicit and a certain betrayal (at least in this story). That the wife would continue to find the sex "the best ever" after the divorce is extremely unlikely unless the husband was terrible sexually or simply not very sexual in nature. A woman going through the pain of a divorce after 25 years is not going to be able to separate the physical thrill of sex with her affair partner from her emotional upheaval. People arent made that way. The affair would be a reminder unless she and Rafe decided they were soul mates and truly belonged with each other. This was not established and therefore I call into question the realism of the tale.

The most talented man I ever slept with wasn't a Greek God, a young college stud, a gorgeous older distinguished gentleman. No, he was a colleague that I had known for years and he asked me out about 6 months after i divorced my first husband. I liked Todd (his name). This is an incredibly open and honest look at some of the things people go through. While it isn’t what I would consider a frequent occurrence due to the wife expecting the husband to not only forgive and accept his wife’s infidelity but to allow it to continue. I am sure aside from that point, it happens to both men and women. This is very well written and found the choice of using each individuals point of view to be so well thought out although considering this authors previous works, it shouldn’t have surprised me at all. Thanks for creating and posting this five star story.

This was...ok but not great, and my lowered opinion of this one is mostly because of Traci. Gonna be entirely honest, we could've done entirely without her POV, because there was literally no character development or growth from her. She was selfith, through and through. Not a likeable character in the slightest, and not someone who learned anything at all, either about herself or how to consider the feelings of those around her. Even at the end, the only reason she wanted to puke was beause she was bitter and alone. If Rafe had stuck around, none of that would've mattered, because all she needed was a good fucking and she'd be in eternal heaven. Bear in mind that she explicitly said "by that point I didn't care" with reference to her perceived partner, soulmate and best friend when she was fucking Rafe once Mike left

Mike had a great arc of redemption, though, again, we could've done without him meeting Traci for lunch regularly. That was a needless stretch..because why would he, considering when their marriage was on the line Traci begged to keep Rafe?
