If I hadn't seen this story posted here and with your name, Pixie, I'd have thought it was a genuine late-Victorian erotic novel. You have captured the essence of the age perfectly. Probably the only difference would have been the late-Victorian writer's attitude to women. As well as being an entertaining story, this chapter contains valuable lessons. There are a great number of truths about social attitudes, many of which persist to this day ("...got to admire the randy old sod..." as compared with "...she's a cradle-snatcher..."). In my opinion, your best chapter to date---shame that five stars is the limit.

The Sapphic lovemaking/sex scenes between Kate and Frances were magnificent. Beyond those, the rest of this chapter was great too. I do love that Frances plans to use Forty to have a bigger voice and increased power in such a male-dominated world. I look forward to reading more! :)
