A very fine story.

'Ladies who munch'! Love it.

Although some of the expressions used are not strictly of the period, they pass and amuse us delightfully.

...but not to practice to deceive, more like to receive (favours and in every position known to Hindu temple wall carvings). Frances might have the glitterati of Victorian society grovelling at her bedside but I doubt whether Her Majesty would be amused. And talking about Her Majesty, I wonder if the short-sighted randy old lord ever made a pass at John Brown in his kilt. It might be fun to find out how the irascible Scot reacted. Probably quote Burns ("...The sweetest hours that e'er I spend, / Are spent among the lasses...") before blacking the noble eye. Another five stars, Pixie, and a bonus five if you find out what Queen Victoria thought of the whole affair.
