What a lovely start. Friendship is the first step. These characters are so alive, and I feel for them very much. I sympathize with each of them. The older man/younger woman dynamic is working very well as both are level-headed adults, so the age hardly matters. Nice job, Barry.

A lovely beginning about two people who were hurt and lied to by the people they loved. 5*

Whow, with the combined baggage those two have, just talking with each other is like walking in a minefield or maybe more appropriately a dog park. Just gotta watch where you step. This has been a great story so far and I'm hoping the next part is as well done.
