Great story with a nice HEA ending. As soon as you finish taking a bow or two for this submission, you need to sit your butt back down and find a similar ending for Zara and Scott. You left them both in tears and need to revisit and fix that. BYW, 5 stars today.

Enjoyed the story and the happy ending. I know the story isn't about Mark's Mom and sister, but it kind of left them hanging out to dry. He did promise to take Rebecca on a date, and poor Mom, seeing her long time friend getting to have a family life again. I know it's fiction but it's just some loose ends that need to be taken care of. Five stars, and thanks.

I loved this story, its just a happy meaningful tale of love between an unlikely couple who were perhaps not meant to be together. But then not everything is "written in the stars".

My interest was piqued at the introduction and some of the first half of the story was so close to my personal life I started wondering if my own published story had been copied and rewritten. However the beginning and the end are so very different.

A real love story, An absolute diamond in the brambles and so descriptive, sure there are a few mistakes and some needed backtracking to make sure I got it right... but so what? I join the others with excusing you and wouldn't dream of criticising.

Sadly I can only award 5*

You're always the consummate writer, regardless of the genre. Great plot buildup and well handled transition from life long friends to lovers. I can always relate to stories where both get swept off their feet and end up married in short order. From the time of our first date until our wedding was under a year decades ago. 30+ years later, five kids, seven grandchildren and counting is proof time spent courting means little to longevity in a marriage. My roommate at the time I met my wife knocked up a local girl (think "Officer and Gentleman") and was married only months from their first date. They have a great family and are still in love decades later as well. 5*
