You may have just written one of the best scenes in the canon of vampire lit. Julias standing as a wall of vitae, Jack’s inner journey with his beast, the murder of crows blocking out the sky - none of what just happened was what I predicted. Truly amazing writing.

You bastard killing Julias, poor Beatrice, I love this story, and everything in it. But I have to say an obligatory bastard at this.

I don't understand why you would spend so much time on character development and then just kill Julias randomly, just because it would be a good trigger for Jack to break free of his chains.

This chapter is not representative of your usual style and feels cheap, like something written out of desparation because you didn't know how to move the plot along otherwise.

PS: Beatrice will now become the most annoying character ever and the readers will have pages of her suffering emotional distress over the the death of her one true love. Of course Jacob will be the one she opens up to and helps her move on with her live and in turn moves on himself.

I just don't understand the need for the death of Julius????????? Torpor sure but death????? The rest of the chapter was fantastic!!!!! But Jack could have entered the history dream state without the death of Julius

Noooo, not Julias!

At first I thought Julias' death simply served the purpose of cheap drama but now looking back at his character it seems he was always there to serve as a bridge for characters like Jack and beatrice. Now I am wondering which characters you will kill of as the story goes on.

On one hand, killing a main/major character will always illicit strong emotions, on the other that felt like a very underwhelming way for Julias to go. Tony and Victor died in an epic firestorm, Lucas to a magic sword wielded by his dominated childe after sending a horde of minions at Antoinette... Julias? Julias died to a small group of hunters in a hospital.

That... kinda sucks, especially after the ending of last chapter where it looked like we were going to see Julias go full badass. And we did! Only for it to be kind of eh. He soaked some bullets and looked cool doing it, that was it. It really felt like the whole scene was contrived to set Jack up to unchain his beast, and Julias was a convenient way to get to that point.

I’m sure there’s more to come, but if all this scene amounts to is a plot contrivance to unchain Jack and add drama to Beatrice’s arc then I will be sorely disappointed.

Probably a little scathing, but killing off a major character is always going to draw a critical eye. Not convinced there was enough weight to this choice as yet.

I really enjoyed the “timeline amalgamation” of the ententes & would like too read more in that direction.

Julias character had a very humanistic reflection upon the plot that l thought made the storyline more credible, without that anchor to humanity within the group, you risk making your characters less sympathetic towards the reader.

Anyway, a fantastic read as always, thanks for sharing your world.

1. If there's one thing this entire story has taught me till date is that this isn't the average "MC-conquers-his-fears-and-challenges-and-becomes-badass" story. This entire story has been a journey for Jack; a learning process. Fuck it! life's not fair!! good people die everyday! it's just unfortunate that it had to Julias tho, I thought it would be Jack's mother

2. You have NO IDEA how long I've waited for this moment(Jack leveling up). I've fantasized about this from the end of part 2 and now it's finally here

3. It's becoming worrying how captivating this story, my palms get sweaty and my heart rate skyrockets whenever I see a new chapter. Please keep it up!

Never left a comment before but.. This story is a masterpiece. Not flawless, but a masterpiece nonetheless. I can't wait to see what happens to Jack. New abilities? A change in personality? Honestly, if this is what you do with a fanfiction, I can't wait to see what you do with something you create with your own hands and I hope you do.

So I am disappointed about Julias, as I did like his character more than Jack. But that is your decision.

The flashbacks were cool, but I did not really care for the way that the beast was controlling it. Did the beast give Viktor and Julias the same view? This chapter just felt wrong. It was like someone else wrote the story with a different style and vision.

I have been a huge fan, but I am not sure that I want to read the next chapter.

I am not happy that you killed off Julias. In fact, I stopped reading this chapter for a while. I cant see that killing him off serves any purpose.

I’m not going to comment on the death of Julius, other than to say I first read this almost a year ago and quit reading the series. I’ve just gotten back to it and reread up to this point. I just have to say that I’m tired of seeing the vampires getting their asses handed to them. This is what, the third pitched battle they have lost with nothing gained? It’s just not fun to read.
