"Well I for one am glad that you didn't Jake," She says patting my hand.

"Yeah because who would have shown you around and told you about Mrs. Harper's extra credit," I ask with a grin.

"I'm being serious Jake," she tells me then looks out at the lake and sighs. "We should be getting back. I promised your mom I'd have you back by lunch."

"You know, you never told me about how my version of events lined up with Patrick's." I tell her as we begin driving away from the drive in.

"Jake, I know now that you could have lied about all of it and it really wouldn't have made any difference to me." She answers looking over at me. "I knew who you were the moment my little sister took you to her room. You went right along with her and didn't treat her like some dumb little kid you had to endure just to get into my pants. And before you ask, yes that's happened before, no they didn't succeed, and yes I got my revenge."

"I'm sorry. I'm glad and good for you." I answer garnering a smile from her.

"This smile doesn't mean that I'm not mad at you Jake," She warns me.

"But you just said..." I begin to say but she stops me.

"I know what I said and the reason that I'm mad is because you could have told me all of this stuff way before now and avoided all of this drama." She explains.

"I was having too much fun being around you to bring any of that up." I state.

"There you go again being all sweet again," she sighs as we pull to stop in my driveway. "Jake, I wasn't planning on dating anyone this year. I didn't see the use in it since I'll be leaving for college in the summer so what's the point? That said; you are making it very difficult for me to stick to that plan."

"So we're just staying friends," I ask confused.

"For now," She answers biting her bottom lip. "I just need a little time to wrap my head around this if that's okay with you Jake?"

"I'd rather have you as my friend than nothing at all Jess," I tell her and manage a smile.

She smiles back and nods. "Good. So I'll call you tonight to see how you're feeling then and see you tomorrow then?"

"That sounds like a plan." I answer. I get out of the SUV and make towards my front door but before I get too far she calls out to me.

"Jake, I almost forgot something," She says waving me back.

I step over to the driver side window. "And what would that be," I ask.

She leans out and gives me a soft but too quick kiss on my lips. The brief brush of her lips warm me like a ray of sunshine on a cold winter day.

"That... that's my way of thanking you for my lilies," She explains as a blush creeps up her cheeks. I can tell that she felt the same warmth I did and it's all I can do not to lean in and kiss her again but I tell myself that she wants to wait. I just hope she doesn't want to wait too long.

First, stop apologizing for the writing (even tho' series is done!!). You COULD go back and edit the story, get the overlooked mistakes fixed to make the reading easier...your "editor" has not done a very good job, by the way!!

Jessica going with Patrick was a surprise, but she DID get away early and was not attacked as some of the readers thought would happen.

Patrick and Jamie...gonna get theirs...sooner than later I think, a long with the head coach who has turned a blind eye to the antics of his "winning" players. He does not deserve a championship win under these circumstances...players need to be arrested and jailed for multiple felonies...lose their chances at scholarships and a future...

Jessica and Jake...good friends, which is SSSSSOOOOO necessary for a relationship to work out...I know, my wife and I were really good friends for years...makes us really good partners for each other!!

Go, Team J&J!!!!?

Five**5**Stars...deserves more. I am on in years, like another reader, yet still am enjoying this story...

Seriously. Stop leaving it words in every fifth sentence. Also, why did you change Jennifer to Jenny?

This is stupid. I don't think she'd be foolish enough to go to a party with asshole.

I feel like an idiot. I'm almost 50 years old and I'm reading this story about high school drama and I'm on freakin' pins and needles every now and then. LOL

I was so pissed when she left with Patrick...I thought for sure he was going to spike her drink at the party, have his way with her, and take pictures of her in suggestive positions, just so he could rub 'em in Jake's face. Of course, Patrick would make sure that she looks like she's actually into it and not a passed-out, roofied mess.

I'm so glad that didn't happen, but this kid is still the biggest fuckin' bitch. He's freakin' intentionally rude to her even after she explained how she felt she had no choice but to contact Patrick to find out what the fuck the deal was between the two of them. Part of me is thinking, "fuck this Lil bitch Jake." I've known plenty of "Whoa is me" people in my lifetime. I mean, he sees a pretty new girl at school that he's immediately attracted to and right away she's friendly with him and his friends. At the same time, Patrick is making a play for her because she's the new really pretty girl at school, duh. It took only 1 day in the cafeteria for Jessica to realize Patrick and his friends are all tools and she's been hanging all over Jake since. Jake should have been doing backflips. Jessica chose YOU over Patrick, your nemesis...stop being a cunt. Jesus Christ..,
