Considering that shape shifters (were-kind) originally transformed in the face of the full moon, I would believe that the moon lords are the shape shifters and the night lords vampires.

This sounds like the beginning of an extremely good tale. There are so many ways it can go. He could be on a quest with this lady, he could be further trained in fighting yet stay illiterate, he probably will be doing something improbable and heroic. Does his unknown father come into play? Will he see his friend again? Will he leave the only city he knows for the sea, for the forests, or another city? This is only limited by your imagination, and from this start, I suspect you have a good one.

I like the start though i'll wait for more before i decide for sure. It's very promising though so i'll be looking forward to updates.

I am liking the start of this story alot, i'm going to guess that the moon lords are vampires and the night lords are the shapeshifters hence the reference to the teeth an eyes. anyway can't wait to see this progress and evolve over the coming chapters. keep up the brill work.

What's happening? I guess I'll just have to read more to find out. Please keep writing.
