I enjoyed, but...

It is not now, nor has it ever been legal in China to kill a female baby. It does happen, but it is against the law, it is murder, and people have been prosecuted for it. Sex-selective abortion is far more common.

Good story of love overcoming cultural damage.

Good story.

And well written.

The story, from the start, came repeatedly

to the edge of plausibility, but never more

than that. Well done dancing on the edge!

The only thing that really bothered me,

was that the guy didn't notice the lack of

love for all of 25 years!

The only reason for that, would be that

the lack of love was gone ;).

Makes perfect sense. Well done writer!

To The Author: Do NOT apologize for that ending, I thought it was great. Every story here does not have to end with a BTB or RAAC scenario. I, for one, like a happy ending, and I thought this was a nice one. D

AnonymousAnonymousabout 6 years ago
Guy below me is correct....

Don't aplogize for the ending.

Apolige for the whole god damn thing.

It sucked.

Very good

I really enjoyed this story. Definitely a reconciliation I can understand. Well done.

Just_WordsJust_Wordsover 5 years ago
I buy it.

If she was willing to admit in court that she married him under false pretense, then her apology is legit. This is when reconciliation is justified. That said, I wouldn't give 2 cents for the woman she was early in the marriage.

AnonymousAnonymousover 5 years ago
I still liked it... but do your math.

25 years married. 1st child at 5 years = She is 20 years old. 2nd child 1.5 years later = He is 18.5 years old. You state early in the divorce proceedings that he offered the house, child support and maintenance "until" the kids went to college. They should already be in college... therefore, Disneyland at the end of the story also doesn't fit their ages very well either. Just my fact checking mind at work. Other than that, a very good story about how people can change.

Nice

I liked it. But then, I’m a sucker for a happy ending too. IF. If the situation is right for it. A reconciliation just for the sake of the children, or financial reasons, or whatever, are NOT, in my mind, sufficient reason to try to save a marriage. But it is not unheard of for a couple to get married without really being in love, and fall in love over time. You know the drill, girl gets pregnant, shotgun wedding, then three or four years down the road they wake up one morning and realize they really do love each other. It happens. So this story isn’t that far-fetched.

Good story

This isn't too farfetched as some my think. Think about quickie marriages it happens. 5 stars. But then again I like happy endings, esp those that are plausible.

Lazy Kids

Why did the 20 and 18 year old kids need Grandpa to pick them up?

Stupid fucking story!

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 3 years ago

@Anonymous: right? And she sent her 20 and 18 year old kids upstairs to play (!).

2 stars - it is a pretty lame story - with a ton of holes in the plot.

What we know about China in Europe about their one child rule and dislike of female children, I can fully understand her. I once worked with chinese woman and she told me about the same that is explained in this story.

I believe her when she said she had to learn to love and I'm happy about this happy end.

Although I'm normally a happy ending kind of guy this tested my good will quite sternly and that divorce court scene was frankly cringe inducing. That said, however, it was a very engaging story and given what we know about life in China was mostly credible.

I guess😂😂😂😂.... I don't know man.. she didn't cheat but she's done nothing but lie, use and manipulate him from the very beginning. 25yrs of lies, manipulation and humiliation.. if she suddenly love her husband what was all that bullshit she was telling her friend? What was all that crap about waiting a few years to divorce him? What about the comment about him not knowing how to fuck?👀🤭... None of what he recorded mesh with her sudden declaration of love.. I don't know.. she lied, pretended to love him, manipulated him to marry her, lied to him about babies.. it's not just cheating that can break a relationship. The lies and deceit do just as much damage, if not more. He doesn't truly know who he is married to.. the woman he married is not the real person. She was playing a role.. faking it until she make it.. I think it's weird he didn't question further why she's suddenly very fertile? He was a bit dense to be honest. He didn't think it was weird after weeks of asking her out, and her turning him down, she suddenly wanted to go out with him? He didn't find that odd? I knew when she suddenly found him interesting she wanted him for something. As soon she she started talking about immigration it was pretty easy to tell where this was going.. she needed a sucker to marry for a green card. He was the only sucker that was following her around like a lost puppy without a friend.. I bet it wasn't very hard to manipulate him.. he seemed desperate 🤭.. there was a guy in high school who was cute, played football , most popularguy in school.. I liked him, thought he was cute... he never even paid me any mind.. fast forward a few years, suddenly he's interested, he likes me, he thinks I'm pretty, blah blah blah🙄🙄....Just bullshit... I looked about the same, except my breast were much bigger. I was a 38C .. it didn't take me long to figure out why he was suddenly interested in me.. suddenly, I didn't find him so cute.. I thought he was an asshole with raging hormones. He didn't want me.. he wanted something from me.. I don't like being used.. if I was this guy I would've held off on the renewing of the vows.. they need counseling.. lying to someone for the entirety of your relationship is not good. I guess I should just be happy she wasn't cheating. But again, the lies and deceit is just as bad as cheating... she was able to manipulate and lie for 25yrs.. how is he to know who the real her is? He doesn't know the real her. She had been hiding the real her from him.. the real her didn't want him, she wanted to stay in the USA. The real her didn't want his kids... I mean I just don't understand this relationship 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Good story that made sense. I know a Chinese woman that had a similiar experience growing up. She moved to America but still had some problems.

I can relate to the story. 5*

Ignore the Anonymous negative crap. You presented a good Loving Wife story.

Why so many stories wherein the lying bitch winds up with a happy ending ? 2 stars

Personally, I loved your story. Granted she used him to gain her citizenship, but she never cheated on him and eventually found herself deeply in love with him and isn't that what counts?

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

Nice story, but in all fairness he should have gotten his pound of flesh before the reconciling started.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 1 year ago

Sorry, but I have to agree with the previous Anon. He should have been allowed to remove his belt and given her 25 lashings on her bare ass, one for each year, and then to let the reconciling begin after that.

AnonymousAnonymous9 months ago

After 25 years of lies I don't think she would know the truth if it hit her in the face and he was just stupid to believe her after all those years of lies. I didn't believe for a nanosecond and the writing didn't convince me that she knew how to tell the truth. Just plain bad.

I enjoyed this story! It is different from the main themes we read on LW. The only thing I strongly disliked is your need to apologize for not providing the story that some readers would have preferred. It is YOUR story. You have the right to finish it as you want. If the bullies who try to control the mainstream opinion on this site don't agree with your ending, just tell them to apply for a refund. 5*, as far as I'm concerned. Thank you for your writing!

26thNC26thNC3 months ago

That is an unusual LW story, but one I enjoyed very much.

Don needs to have "Sucker" tattooed on his forehead. The wife played him to stay in America, then she played him about having children, now she's playing him to save herself, not the marriage. That is by no means love.

"Deportation" you must have smoked too much, right? Since when is it a deportation when a foreigner's residence permit expires and he has to return to his home country? She knew from the start that her time in the USA was limited and that she had to leave the country again! The fact that she was lucky enough to meet an idiot who was deceived and married her so she could stay in the country is one of our biggest dilemmas! Any idiot can circumvent our laws like this!

What's funny is that thousands upon thousands of people don't see a future in their home countries and want to come to us. I always ask myself, why don't these people change the conditions in their home countries so that life there becomes worth living? Quite simply: it is easier to sit in a bed that has been made than to make a bed for yourself!
