C2 well you are surely a sloooow building writer. Some of the detail minutia slows down the story getting me to buzz-word scan paragraph skip to keep it flowing. But it's your style.

I'm surprised you do not include how many shirts/pants combo's he tried on before these two check-out to impress meetings - showing us he is nearly as vain as stereotyped woman are noted to be. But then again is 'left' thing tells us he is not quite right, bordering on eccentric. So far all are 4*

the character descriptions, the inside the head ruminations, the fuller understanding of what makes romance work ... or not.
