This is what a marriage to true loving wife should be but often isn't. I wish I could give more than 5 srars.
Powerful.
And such a well done short story.
I hope the 750-words writers see this one.
This is as good as it gets.
Top ratings from me.
Outstanding. It reminds me very much of Slirpuff's "Ira's Bride" - I really can't understand how anyone could not score this (or Slirpuff's) story less than 5/5. I feel sorry for them.
Wow... a tearjerker. I cried at this. That's why I'm posting ANON. Anyone who complains about this story needs a fire ant infestation in their crotch.
Life is a vale of tears. At least, they had each other at the end. She was a good wife.
True LOVE, ACCEPTANCE, and COMITTMENT on Both their parts. Something UNHEARD of and UNSEEN in modern Entitlement and Disposable society today. Great Story. 😢
That is a (loving wife) and a loving husband. This story is a rose amongst trash
Anonymous from a few hours ago got it right: the story is a rose. . .
The reason why this story is so difficult to read is that real life is like this sometimes.
Great short story.
Now this is what I call a "Loving Wife" story . So beautiful, so real life like, and so sad... It reminds me of the time my girlfriend was in the hospital again. She was dying of cirrhosis of the liver, the rest of her organs were not working. She's been in and out of hospitals for 8 months. Finally, they pulled her off the machines. I saw her that Monday and we talked about our life together. Told her I'll stop by Tuesday but she was gone that afternoon. She was only 43 yo. and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her. That was almost 18 months ago. That's why this story is one of my favorites. Keep up the great work.
God damnit, the feels.
It's cheating when you bring in death. But I'll allow it. You wrote it well.
Well written, and touching. It’s RL for far too many. It’s also really damned sad.
5 stars from GW on a great story . I hope that your others are half as well written as this one
