I was thrown off by the present tense, but you made it work. There is definitely room for more content if you're willing. I'd like to see their future together. Things like how Melody's relationship with Reese goes and how her relationship with Lucas continues. I was also expecting one final bed scene between the two after he gets out of the institution as a sort of victory for making it to the end, but you concluded it well here. You could also write a different version from Lucas' perspective (but that's just me wanting more of this story :p ).

That was resolved way too quickly. I don’t think either character would get over rape that soon without more struggles in their relationship. This story was good, but should have been much longer.

Well this was hot garbage. She just lets Reese fuck her like that. What a waste. The brother was a bit of a tool as well. This just hit wrong in every way. Wish I could unread it.
