Readers will be interested to Google images of Pandora statues - a common subject. Our narrator notes that Pandora's exposed breast is polished because of frequent touching. This is a lovely small detail which rings true. In British Columbia, there is an underwater bronze statue of a Mermaid, positioned to be admired by SCUBA divers. The bronze is covered with a greenish patina, except for the statue's nipples which shine because of the attention given them by divers wearing wet suit gloves.
