What I've most enjoyed about these stories is Valerie's emotions, and the perceptions she has of her slave and the others she interacts with. Each chapter is relatively short, but nicely advances the story along. The realizations that Valerie goes through as she considers all the responsibilities of owning a slave are possibly the most intriguing thing about the story. What's also interesting is how often Valerie feels she must maintain the dominant pose, even when she feels tender toward her slave. In some ways, Valerie is almost placing her slave's needs ahead of her own. It's a most intriguing dynamic. I'm very much looking forward to reading more in the future.
