However, Jess’ narrative gives the impression that Phil wasn’t on board with the sex play as much as resigned to allowing a strong woman to “own her own body”—until she gives it away, of course. At the beginning, not only did he approve of his wife’s enticing outfit, but he calmed her anxiety by saying, “whatever happens, happens” and “nothing that happens could be as crazy as that other time”. So it seems as though he had written her a blank check.

So maybe she got a little carried away; she certainly got to the point where she stopped considering hPhil’s feelings about any of her words, actions or decisions; and I found it a red flag that her narrative didn’t include Phil’s vote about what would happen in 2 weeks. Has Jess supplanted Phil in the game? If so, i think the marriage is over. Even without the next scheduled game, they have a lot to work through.
