An amazing story but the clinical, adult way Ann spoke broke immersion completely.

The list gets longer

What a wonderful heartwarming story, but the cast of characters kept getting longer and longer to the point it was sometimes difficult to remember who's who. This is so British that at times I had to look up some of the words to know what was going on, i.e. "chippie". Never would have figured out it was referring to a carpenter, but now I know. Most of the time I was kept smiling at what was going on and how everything was good with a spot of tea. Caught me flat footed when it was reviled that the Ann in the mental hospital was Rebecca's sister, the same Ann that had been attacked so many years ago setting everything into motion. Lots of twists and turns but all in all a great story that I couldn't stop reading. Thanks

Good story, though short at the end. The only thing lacking was some payback on the evil fathers.

It seems strange that a 13 year old girl who has rarely seen her father is so comfortable with him. She seems knowledge about him, too. (She comments about his cooking skills). It's also odd that her mother has no problems letting the father spend so much time with her when they hadn't seen him in so long.
