Hi, looks like you missed a chapter in this series, there is a disconnect between the current chapter 5 and the start of this chapter 6

Nope, nothing missing. This chapter just picked up in media res, with some action having occurred off stage. Phil's Tale does that a bit - it's less moment-to-moment focused and more big picture centric.

I like the depth of the characters more than anything else. I just had to stop and break up a raccoon fight. There are a couple of juvenile raccoons who come on my deck to eat the cheap cat food I put out. But no fighting.

Your stories provide an actual storyline. I like that.
