I like the new twist. I liked Janis, but yes, she was a wimp, and an amazingly easy woman: Anyone could have her, and anyone did, even anonymous rapists, about whom she seemed amazingly casual. (Are we ever going to find out who chained her up and fucked her in the middle of the night, and if Mark Seiman set it up?) What if we promise -- scout's honor -- not to tell Janis? By the way, has Mark factored in Officer Flanagan? I see trouble in that direction. Finally, who is Mark's secret enemy, the one he's afraid will kill everyone? Are the Russians involved? 5* ~~ JB
