If I may borrow, “ My attempt to hold back my tears failed badly ...”
Thank you for sharing.
One of your best, M&M. Absolutely beautiful and heartwrenching. Bravo
Wow! What a tear jerker! Great story please keep them coming!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!
It will raise the voter’s score 0.25 points.
Death of a child raises it 0.50 points. I’ll have to remember that when I write my next story.
Nice story, BTW.
Damn, sad stories are not the way to begin the day. Thank you for a very touching story.

This story has a touch of the last James Garner movie, The Ultimate Gift, 2007 ....

6*, Hooyah, many Salutes...
For a few short years.
Personally.
Her single mother had her at 40 yrs of age.
I visited annually.
After her mid teens she withdrew somewhat.
Then one day she became sick.
Her mother took her.to the local clinic?
They gave here an injection of some sort.
She went into shock and died.
Maybe one day post Covidiosy I can visit her mum and we can grieve together.
I had just finished a very badly written story when I read yours. Your story reminded me why I come to this site. There is a lot of dross here but gems like this one keep me coming back. Please keep writing stories that impress yourself.
There are more ways to tell a romantic tale than we generally are aware of.
This worked so very well. 5*, of course.
Masterfully written. Alas, I come here to get away from the injustice of reality.
Still, good writing is good writing.
Beautiful
Why, why, would little children be afflicted with cancer??! It's just too cruel!! And devastating to the Parents.
Is there a God??
I've read this many times and always get tears running down my face
Wonderful but sad.

That’s why my eyes are so watery. Really. No. Really.

Hit really, REALLY hard. Thank you for reminding us all about humanity in an increasingly inhumain world.
To paraphrase Larry the Cable Guy,
"That's empathetic, I don't care who you are!"
It is claimed that the soul is ageless -- something to remember for the next meeting ....
Lovely story, very touching and sad. Guess I'm just a little dense because I had to go back through the story to try and figure out who Elsa was. Duh..... I'm just a tad slow I guess, but when even the grandkids are past Frozen, it took a while. Got to give this one five stars and thanks, cancer sucks.
