"Thanks Sare, I owe you one. What are you doing tonight? I need a drink or 5, and I'd prefer to actually drink them and not wear them" I said as we were checking out before leaving for the night. Sarah laughed and promised to make sure I got laid tonight.

I grabbed my purse and headed to my car. When I got in I finally checked my phone. I had a new text from Jordan.

"Hey it was good seeing you today. We should catch up some time."

Nope. Nope, I'll save myself the embarrassment thanks. I put my phone back into my purse and headed home. "Max! Come on boy!" Max jumped on me with his leash already in his mouth again. I took him to the dog park to get some good exercise in because I knew I was in for a long night. After a good nap and a shower Sarah came over to get ready with the rest of the girls.

We hopped out of the Uber with our IDs in hand as we entered the bar, I was already scoping out the crowd. I felt amazing. Sarah helped me wand my hair into perfect wavy curls. I specifically chose my tight black tank top and jean shorts so I could feel cute and comfortable at the same time. Underneath, I wore my matching lacy black Victoria's Secret set so I'd be ready in the event I did find someone to help me rid of this sexual tension I had growing within me.

There were two things I noticed when I approached the bar. The first was that there was a new bartender. A new, very sexy bartender. I noticed the second thing after he made eye contact with me, smiled, and greeted me, "Hey, what can I get you?"

An accent. A fucking British accent. You can take me home now. "I'll have -" I started.

"We'll have a round of tequila shots," I heard from my left. When I looked over my shoulder I found Jordan with his debit card in hand.

"How many?" the bartender asked looking between the both of us.

Jordan took a look around to take into account the amount of girls I had with me. Is it just you and Sarah?" he asked me. All I could do was nod. "I'll take four, please."

When the bartender handed me mine his hand lingered on the glass as I reached for it, just the contact alone sent shivers down my body. "Your next one is one me," he said with a wink.

I smiled back at him forgetting Jordan for a moment, "Thank you." I turned my attention back to Jordan and thanked him as well.

"Absolutely, is tequila still your poison?" he asked with that familiar smirk on his face. Without breaking eye contact I shot my head back and enjoyed the burn down my throat.

"Is hooking up with girls and ignoring them after still yours?" Shit, shit, shit. Pregaming was not a good idea. I had already been drinking tequila before we arrived. Both Sarah and Jordan's friend began to laugh.

"Good luck, Buddy," his friend said and he walked around us and moved over to start talking to Sarah.

"Look, I'm sorry Liv. I know that was really shitty. I-," he hesitated running his hands through his hair. I just stared at him waiting for him to continue.

When he didn't, I signaled for the bartender's attention and he headed my way. "I'll take you up on that shot now," I said with a smile

"Absolutely, what are you doing later? I'm off at ten tonight and a few of us are going to the bar a couple streets down."

Before I could answer Jordan jumped in, "Thanks man, but we actually already have plans."

The bartender looked between the both of us laughing, "Alright, next time then." Jordan grabbed me by the hand and started taking me to a quieter area of the building. I looked around for Sarah and she was already dancing with Jordan's friend. Traitor

"Why didn't you text me back earlier?" he asked. The memories of Jordan getting back together with Jess a week after our bathroom incident came flooding back and fueled me with disbelief. Laughter came over me and I couldn't stop.

I finally caught my breath, "Look Jordan, let's not pretend we're friends here. We weren't friends in high school and we're not friends now."

"That's not fair-" he started.

"Fair? You're fucking kidding right? You wouldn't know fair if it hit you in the face!" The people around us started to stare, I took a deep breath and lowered my voice. "I was humiliated Jordan. I don't.. that's not me. I wasn't the girl that threw herself at people. I followed the rules, I never broke curfew, all of my assignments were passed in early. I let loose once and make a complete fucking fool of myself in front of everyone. Jess.. the things she said, the things she did to me for the next two years? You just.. let her. Look, I don't care that you got back together. I wasn't looking for anything from you, but jesus... could you have reigned her in a little? She made my last two years of a high school a living hell for me."

"I know, I'm sorry Liv. I was 16, I was stupid. I'm so fucking sorry," he said.

"It's fine, I really don't care anymore. When I graduated I never looked back at that place. I started over and left it behind," I answered. "Anyways, thanks for the shot, but I think I'm going to head back and take him up on his offer."

He just looked at me, "The bartender? You don't even know him. You don't know his friends."

"And? That's how you meet people, Jordan," I shot back.

"No, that's how you end up the missing and featured on the seven o'clock news," he said vehemently.

Who the hell does he think he is? "Well it's a good thing you're not my father and you're sure as shit not my boyfriend, so I actually don't have to listen to you," I left him with that and I walked away.

Jess and I continued to drink, chat it up with bartender, and dance the night away. Jordan and his friend found a group of girls they seemed to be friendly with and I had the pleasure of watching him dance with the same gorgeous blonde he was with at the restaurant. Jess on the other hand hit it off with Jordan's friend James and even though he was dancing with other girls, his eyes were following her wherever we went.

It was about 10:15 and Jess was more than happy to accompany me to the next string of bars. We were following the bartender Damon out and we passed Jordan and James while doing so. Jordan's body tensed and he grabbed me by wrist, "Call me if you need anything."

"She's all set bro, thanks." Damon said with a smirk.

"Great bro, I wasn't talking to you," he said sarcastically, "I mean it Liv, call me if you need me."

"I don't need you Jordan, have a great night."

James slipped Sarah his number and we headed started to head to his car. When we hopped in Sarah asked while giggling, "So? Do the rest of your friends have a British accent as well?"

"No," Damon laughed, "I've only moved here a few months ago."

"Wow, you make friends fast then! Which bars are we headed to?" she asked.

"Um, I forget the name of it. We'll be there soon," he said as he took a left, away from the string of bars I thought we were headed to.

"Damon? The bars are actually the other way."

"Yeah I know, we're just picking up a friend on the way," he replied. I looked over my shoulder and sensed Sarah was just as uneasy as I was. "Don't worry, he's cool"

I didn't respond. Damon filled the silence telling us about what it was like out in England and all about his adventures since leaving home. The longer we were in the car, the more I started to feel uncomfortable.

"So where does your friend live?" I asked.

"Kind of in the middle of no where, you should see it during the day time though. It's absolutely beautiful. No other houses around, completely surrounded by nature."

He was right, looking out the window I noticed we were on a dirt road and I saw nothing but pitch black and trees. I should've been paying attention to where we were going. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket to text Sarah to let her know we had to get out of this.

"Oh, I wouldn't bother with that. You don't get service out here, nice right? Kind of cuts you off from the world and allows you to escape the real world for awhile." He said without looking over at me.

I looked back at Sarah and she looked just as scared as I felt. "Damon, I'm actually not really feeling that well. Maybe we can try again tomorrow night? I think I just want to go home."

"Yeah, I actually have to get up pretty early so tomorrow night definitely sounds pretty great right now," Sarah added with nervousness in her voice.

He didn't answer. Suddenly feeling claustrophobic I started to freak out a bit. "Damon, seriously. I want to go home." The nervousness in my voice seemed to make him smile.

"You're actually not going anywhere; you really should have stayed with your friend in the bar. How stupid are you to get in a car with an absolute stranger?" he asked.

I turned my head back to Sarah, "Sarah get out!" Wasting no time, she opened her door and jumped out.

I reached over and took a hold of the wheel. "PULL OVER!"

"Let go you crazy bitch! You're gonna make-" I never heard him finish his sentence because it was cut off by the airbags deploying in our faces.

Harmless start ... suddenly exciting finish

This Chapter started with harmless banter ... in fact flirting with the border to boring ... dime a dozen college setting ... but I liked the contrast to the ending where the story suddenly turned darker, suspenseful. Enjoyed the resulting surprise factor very much. Hopefully next chapter maintains this kind of fun, plot momentum and suspense.

Thanks and best wishes, S
