Looking down on him he saw her wolf had taken over, her eyes completely golden now and filled with love. He managed to tilt his head, baring his shoulder to her.
Mine! she said, before she bent down and bit him with her appearing canines, her wolf finally claiming what was hers. She heard him grunt and moan while she had him trapped like that. Fran felt his arms sneak around her and hold her tightly while he started to thrust up against her. It was like his first orgasm hadn't happened and he started all over.
She released his neck and licked the wounds just as he had done with her, leaving a somewhat similar set of four tiny puncture marks. Her tongue explored her teeth and she felt the canines disappear. Her wolf retreated as well, content with having claimed her mate. Steadying herself on her hands, she examined Nick's face.
He had his eyes closed, his head was thrown back and he was biting his lip. She noticed the tiny marks she had left and felt the need to soothe him, so she bent down and placed little kisses on them. The marks, still tender and new, were very sensitive and Nick's eyes shot open when he felt her gentle caresses.
One hand traveled to her neck and he forced her lips to his, frantically devouring her lips and battling her tongue.

Quickly he turned them over, trapping her beneath him. Sitting up he put her legs over his arms and lifted her slightly, knowing he didn't have much room to maneuver since he was still locked to her. Some intimate moments later, Nick gently pulled out.
After getting dressed, they made their way back to his car and he drove them to the estate. When they arrived there was some noticeable activity, mostly some females lingering around the main house. Fran could hear Nick holding back a growl, a soft rumbling in his chest.
I'm assuming those are the pack's single females? she asked.
They are. I just wish they had waited a bit longer. Today is already filled with more than enough emotions between the two of us, I didn't want them meddling in them as well, he replied. Are you ok with meeting some of them?
It's ok, I'd meet them sometime anyway, might as well be now.
Alright, just one thing, if one of them tries to challenge you, don't respond, they know better than to challenge a newly turned wolf, they know you can't fully shift until the next full moon and then they have to wait another two weeks, so you get accustomed to shifting and your wolf. If one dares to do so, I'll handle it, ok?

You know the man...on paper he puts his woman first in everything he does versus today's man who can't even excuse himself if he farts. sirreadsalot10almost 14 years agoI loved that he didn't tell her that her new job was being his personal assistant. Her confusion at him being her new boss was priceless. It seems that in the next chapter she will be facing the pack females at last. I have been looking forward to that sinse the pack females were first mentioned several chapters ago.
canndalmost 14 years agowhen ch. 8 came out I had to go back and read it again...it had been a while since I first read it. I enjoyed it again. Now, will they remember working on the car? ;) I loved the pups too though are all the kids born in wolf form and can they change into human? I am surprised he won't let her work for him too. I also was surprised that she wouldn't have been worried or surprised when he mentioned a possible challenge. they never spoke of that part of his world. What would she be challenged for? Wouldn't she wonder about that? Most of us know it would be for him or for the right to be alpha bitch, but she wouldn't know with it being a new world.
I love the story. I think you do a great job of showing the connection and love they have and of making it believable that she could fall that fast without the 'wolf' instinct to recognize her mate. I wonder if you'll tell the stories of her friends. Lis and Merlin could be fun to do with the mix of the stories we know and your story for them. Chris seems like a nice guy too so maybe her friend is his mate?
I like the control he has had and the time he took in the beginning to not force himself on her right away. I liked when he made it 'about her' the first night. I also loved how he introduced her to his wolf. can't wait for the rest of the story. I think it is fun for them to face some conflict but I like it to be them facing it together rather than conflict between them. I think they are too strong to let anything/anyone come between them.
willieonealmost 14 years agoWhen Nick says......He made a mental note to tell Arabella she'd be searching for a new personal assistant. He smiled widely when he took in her surprise look when he gave her the rest of the day off and walked out, dragging Fran behind him.
WHY would she have to give up the job of his PA? Can't she be his mate and his PA? He is after all a forward thinking modern man. I would have thought he would love having her as his PA or is he thinking it might be to distracting for both of them?

You've done a great job balancing Nick's need for his mate w/o making it a kind of rape. I can't stand when writers have their characters basically force the relationship under the guise of mating instinct. And thanks for remembering the job because I was starting to wonder about that. Please continue!!
sandman0312almost 14 years agoI just saw this story today and spent a good portion of it getting caught up. Now I'm up to speed. I wish I would have been able to comment on each chapter as they came out, but as it is I figured it would be more practicle to write one on the most recent posting. So for starters I can't tell you how refreshing it has been to be immersed in a story that is just pure romance. You pulled it off remarkably. The suspence of her acceptance into his world was awesome. You totally had me rooting for them. He treats her the way a true love should be, cherished. I can't thank you enough. Chapter five was what two lover's first time should be like. Its all the little touches that you mix in with the story that makes me love it. I could almost see those cute little pups. I like the way everything is light hearted and good. You have done such a good job and I can't wait until the next chapter. I think we may get our first taste of conflict in it. I hope you stick to the formula that has kept them together. Don't go breakin their hearts! :)
