One is never to old or young to learn acceptance of self. This is like a coming out story, but needs a few more chapters of acceptance and enjoying what comes natural and is normal. Still a good read.

OK, you imply heavily that Elena had at least the beginnings of a sexual relationship with her redheaded junior high school friend, which the other girl’s mother objected to. But you refer to the mother in question as Sister Agnes, which screams “nun,” so I’m a bit confused. Are there non catholic denominations which refer to “sisters” that are NOT nuns?
