The BTB crowd obviously are sniffing the wind on this story and getting upset, but hey fuck them. The way the author is laying out the story, I kinda hope it lands where they think it will. It appears that Sherri has more than learned her lesson, probably has 2 of Ron's kids (twins) and has been waiting faithfully for the universe the reunite them. As for Ron, he's doing well professionally but he's drifting personally - he couldn't nail down Karen, a woman who obviously loved him and it's like he didn't even care... he's emotionally detached and still dreams of Sherri. The big issue is obviously going to be Ron taking the leap to risk his feelings again with the woman who hurt him, but I'd say it doesn't seem like it'd be that much of a risk - Sherri has obviously grown up (for 2 pretty obvious reasons). Anyway, I don't mind second chances, especially when they're earned. Let's see how this unfolds in the final chapter.

see upon story is workin toward... sucks.

AnonymousAnonymous3 months ago

Until the last page this was a 5 star story. Could the author not have developed an ending?

AnonymousAnonymous4 months ago

I can't help but feel like he's going to get back with Sherri. Like, seriously, no matter how good she's been since their split, nothing can undo what she did. Did everyone forget - did he? It wasn't just the fact she so blatantly cheated on him - repeatedly - but her excuses and lack of accepting responsibility, plus the fact she so easily and continuously lied to him, and right to his face as well no less, show that she's just not really a good person nor will she ever be trustworthy. How could any self-respecting man ever get back with someone that would behave like that? I, for one, never could. One strike and you're gone! And I hold myself to the same standards, so it's not like I'm expecting something from someone that I don't expect from myself; it's only fair.

AnonymousAnonymous4 months ago

Didn't like this much at all, this author reads too many Clancy novels. The ridiculous macho shit in Afghanistan (as if a civvy could do any of that), as well as the obvious looming RAAC was just too much to take.

Let's be honest and admit that even if we disagree with the reconciliation at least Ron was 10X the man that the MC from Blackrandl's Y'ou can go home again' who is the poster child for cucky wimps. I far prefer this story

AnonymousAnonymous4 months ago

After writing such a good mc in requital who takes no nonsense why make this mc wimpy cuck? And this Melissa what business does she have stopping that Karen? Acting all good, when she should have done that and stop the slut wife her best friend in Vegas, such self entitled bitch and oh the wimp mc I don't Even know why he's still so close with them.. this type of reconciliation is the worst. Wimpy cuck comparing every lover with his ex slut wife can't even move on.. I know this is fiction but no way in hell after such betrayal with his friends and slut wife would he still pining for her. No remorse or guilt and action to proof she deserves a second chance.

Ouch. The 'school of hard knocks' has unforgiving tests. (Pass or Fail) A love life can be also be brutal.

Ron is a good looking succesful guy that goes after women hes attracted to, guys like him have no trouble getting women dont know why he would bother going back to a petty cheat thats acts like a child if this is where the storys heading.

AnonymousAnonymous11 months ago

I can't really fault the writing, it's good, the story is good ... my only fault is in the man leaves cheating wife and then gets an unending supply of pussy trope, or as in this case enters another long relationship.

One of the good things about this story though is how it's managed to rile HighBrow (though it really should be LowBrow) because he can't get enough of his revenge fetish.

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

is this lit "erotica" ? or am i reading someones g rated autobiography?

AnonymousAnonymous12 months ago

I'm reading it for the second time in a week. I know it has elements that trigger some people. They need to accept that freedom means people can do things they don't agree with and it's none of their damn business. Self respect can be a euphemism for intolerance. If Ron wants to be friends with the people who knew his wife had cheated on him in Vegas that's his own business. In fairness, they assumed Sherrie had told him and they'd worked it out and they didn't know she saw him after returning.

Roommates huh? Yeah right twins is my guess that she has so far not told him she has. Wonder if they are his are the asswipe’s? My guess his given Melissa still being in her life. She is so messed up. However, unlike my comment in an earlier part of this story I think she finally understands what true love is and the hurt that betrayal like hers causes. Too little too late. Wonder if we will learn what revelation tipped Karen’s decision to breakup with him? Does she know who the roommates are? Got me hooked I am gonna read to see this unfold. Perfect storytelling!!! I am enthralled and eager to read more. Writing is good but the tension, suspense, intrigue, adventure, surprise is fantastic. Hate Karen could not continue with him. Ron deserved her but not if he was gonna resent her sometime in the future. Karen is a gem. So is Melissa.

Yep I can see the reconciliation attempt unfolding. The joker here is the roommates and Ron’s response. Thanks for sharing. John

Damn you write e exceptionally!! Perfect intrigue. Love the filler from Mellisa’s diary. Super dialog. Nice suspense The medal was priceless. Hate the Karen breakup but realize it was inevitable given the end of part one. It’s coming but I don’t care I have reconciled myself to it and actually hope it comes to fruition.

Great storytelling. Thank you for letting me enjoy. John

This is how to write a reconciliation story. You have to give it time and show growth in the offender. The cheated spouse needs to have time to put things in perspective. I wish we had more stories like this. Thanks for your work.

Good story, I can't see him getting back with the ex but the story seems to be leading that way. How a guy can accept and ignore that kind of cheating is not understandable but who can explain love, if that's what it is. The writing is good the criticisms are picky and are a based on and old axiom: "It's easy to criticize, that's why everyone does it." The story is well written and fun to read and comes from inside the author. Read and enjoy, if you don't like it, don't read it! Beside, it's free! Maybe you could ask for your money back! (That makes as much sense as much as some of the criticism, right?)

Lovely follow up.

Interesting & looking for the conclusion.

Maybe the room mates ought to have been kept a secret.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 3 years ago

Where to start? Sherrie is described as having barely B-cup sized breasts by our 'hero.' Karen, considerably larger ones. Melissa complains in her diary that when Sherrie gains back some of the weight she lost while being depressed, her breasts were much larger than hers, despite her having had several children. Sounds like the author forgot what he already wrote in the midst of thousands of wasted words and details that are most inaccurate about various topics. Then, he spends so many pages on Karen, including needlessly clinical medical terms for misplaced parts of her anatomy, only to have her break up with him without even bothering to give a decent explanation. Never mind the dozen or so flaws in the military aspects of this part of the story. Now, just when it seemed he was on the verge of recovering from his whore, all the telltale warning scents of RAAC shit start to appear. Very little hope for part 3 at this point.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 3 years ago

Are we supposed to be so stupid we can't work out the "room mates" are children? I'm going to guess they are twins :). My crystal ball tells me there will be a reconciliation. Because as we all know being cock mad is only a temporary condition, brought on by women's things. Hormones possibly. Weirdly men are totally the opposite in my experience. Once a pussy hound, always a pussy hound. Even into their late 60's and after a couple of divorces, they can't stop.

Did I Miss It?

I'm not going to go back to check but I don't recall anyone actually saying Sherrie's roommates are Ron's children. Could be fuckwads but I doubt it. I expect they will be Ron's leading to oh, hell we all know where. I would have had a very serious "talk" with Melissa and her husband about keeping the Vegas secret. Then when I found out she was passing info on to Sherrie that would have ended that relationship but good. As for someone's comment about where the old man could come up with a .45 ACP, there's a reason it was named a 1911, a version's been around for over 100 years. I'll take my A1 over a 9mm any day, any week, any year. If I can't stop'em with a combination of 7 rounds of military ball and hollow points I've always had at least one more full mag. That puppy was designed for snap shooting and stopping any bad guys literally dead in their tracks. The damned thing is nearly indestructible unlike anything it hits. Good story LH, I enjoyed the hell out of it no matter what anyone else says. Signed: BTW

It is garbage for Karen to say Ron is holding back.It is obvious that he is madly in love with her and if she thought that why did she stay with him all that time.Tha author is looking for a get out for for Ron to get back with Melissa and struggling to find one.

AnonymousAnonymousover 5 years ago
you have to believe in 'soul-mates' for this story to work

I used to believe in it, very foolishly when I was young.

I can literally explain every action with a more plausible explanation.

Is the ex-husband unable to love another? Is he not giving himself completely to another? No.

Why isn't he proposing to his new girlfriend? How about he's shy? How about he's cynical? How about he's that unsure about EVERYTHING. He had once believed in true love. He believed his ex-wife was his partner in everything. That lie was shattered, his entire worldview is GONE. Poof. Why can't his new lover propose to him? He'd say YES. Maybe she's too old-fashioned. Maybe she's insecure. Are we seeing a pattern? These are normal people, with average emotions. They are both mentally blocked from moving forward not because of 'star-crossed lovers', but rather their own mental prisons. They absolutely refuse to just grow up. Meditate on their blocks, and communicate them reasonably with eachother. His lover wont even entertain the notion it could be anything BUT old love. It's dogmatic.

The ex-wife COULD be holding out for true love's kiss. Swoon. Or maybe she's broken? Maybe she's re-evaluating her life. Maybe she wants to grow as an individual, and no rebound for an emotional crutch? Maybe she's gun-shy about accidentally cheating again. Maybe she's afraid she'll be cheated on? These are super boring and average reasons to explain away her monk lifestyle. Average, but nuanced and relate-able.

But true love? That shit is fairy tales. My love life became....GOOD....STABLE....DEEPER, but only after I ditched the idea of true love. Don't get me wrong. It's actually believable that three people would stagnate and suffer because they all became convinced about this myth. I was a sucker, as many people were. There are 7 billion people and counting on Earth. We have so many chances to find an attractive mate with compatible personalities, and even a handful of chances to test that in courtship. So my complaint isn't at all that they all believe it, the thing that bothers me is NO ONE seems to be cynical about it. It's just accepted as fact. Ex-husband could be in an ever deepening relationship if they gave eachother a real chance. The ex-wife could find love again after proving to herself she's worth a chance, proving she's grown without a relationship crutch.

Perplexed

I'm having difficulty understanding why Melissa remains a part of the MC's life. Either she was his friend and she deeply betrayed him by helping keep the affair concealed, or she was truly just his wife's friend, in which case why would he want to keep in contact with her?

She basically just serves to prove that he hasn't really gotten over his ex-wife, keep the ex-wife still something that exists in his life, and provide an opportunity for RAAC.

Karen wasn't wrong. If he was truly over Sherrie, he wouldn't have kept in weekly contact with her best friend.

Excellent story

but seems to be headed for RAAC !After only 4years of marriage, Sherrie could spend a weekend with a lover and then continue the affair for several months until caught, while continuing to sleep with her husband. What will she do in 10, 15,20 years?! Cheaters are cheaters! This chapter definitely gets 5 stars, though sadly, Karen has been pushed out!

AnonymousAnonymousabout 6 years ago
Good right up to the point

Where Karen dumped him. His hesitancy to ask her to marry him sounded like an excuse on his part to cover up the fact that he really loved her. Karen's comments about a ghost in his life was just a pissy excuse to brush him off. With keeping his ex-wife in the story this looks to be heading in a sucky direction. PLEASE DON'T DO THIS! This story was great right up to the end where he was dumped and is heading back. It lost a star for trying to make the means justify the ending.

Should he have cut Melissa and Cal loose when he found out they were telling his ex about him and vice versa?

Were I him I would have found Karen's position annoying. Leaving him because she knew his head better than he did? WTF. I'd have argued the point but for the fact I'd have sick of hearing her reasoning.

Damn good story.

INTRIGUING

What an intriguing continuation. Especially liked the writing genius way Melissa's POV gave glimpses of home.

Don't see how the Afghanistan interlude advanced the story other than to make our hero more hero. It was the most captivatingly interesting part of Pt. 02, though.

I still don't get Karen's mentality. Kinda feels like the author, after painting her as a wonderful (adorable?) person, is shoving her aside without enough explanation to make room for Sherrie. OK by me -- I love reconciliation stories. That would mean Sherrie has changed. SplitAces on 9-26-14 writes shrewd piece blasting the idea that people can't change.

Onward with a great story.

I fear an RAAC ending.

I think Melissa was a shitty friend to him when she without even asking, showed all their correspondence to the ex. Not nice.

Melissa's POV and Karen's claim, that doesn't really seem to be substantiated, smells of heading towards an RAAC ending, hopefully I'm wrong, those 'roommates' that has so transparently been alluded to will probably lead to the protagonist making a few stupid decisions, like taking back the ex, thereby returning to the past, instead of moving on.

USMC M-4 Carbines are .556mm, not .223 Caliber.

Also, the most common pistol cartridge in the world is 9mm, so how come the Afghani had a .45 ACP pistol? Possible, but the leftover Russian weapons would have been 9mm, and most pistols from the Pakistani Army would be 9mm as well.

Some people do stupid things for the wrong reasons. It sometimes takes something tragic to happen to them to realise how they truly messed up there life and marriage. It's called growing up and understanding that what you had was better than what you threw it away fôr. 5* read numerous times.

I agree with the last anonymous

Why would Ron still be hanging out with the same people who hid the Vegas affair? And now they are hiding what are obviously his kids. Melissa says he is like a brother; obviously that is a bunch of BS. You don't do that to family or good friends.

Sherrie loves Ron so much but couldn't keep from lying and cheating over and over. The excuses she gave are terrible. The only real excuse is that she is a selfish person who does not love her husband. Oh, maybe she does feel something like real love now, now that she has his kids , and now that she lost him by driving him away, but how in the hell can Ron trust her.

I see a reconciliation in the future. And that's sad. Ron hit most of the points why it should be over at the end of the first chapter but I see him accepting his conniving, selfish, lying, distrustful, disrespectful ex-wife and friends back into his life.

Just pathetic.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 7 years ago

Why is he still talking to people who kept it a secret is beyond me. Just tell the bitch in Vegas if you go with him I will tell your husband. I told a buddy one time if he fucked this girl while we were on a trip that I would rat him out. He did not do it and thanked me a few years later. This story looks like RAAC.

Big buildup for reconciliation...

Hey Longhorn, the men in your stories sure are forgiving. I figure Sherrie's "roommates" are kids, right? If so, I'm guessing you'll have them be Ron's kids to help move the recon along. I'm just curious as to why you even wrote a recon into the story. Why not let the cheating skank fade away into the background? You wrote in a nice lady for him (Karen), then wrote her out in just a few sentences - we still don't really know why unless she heard about Ron's babies.

Can't imagine why you thought Sherrie was such a good person that you would move heaven and earth just to bring her back. Oh well. You're an excellent writer and I'll keep reading as long as you keep submitting them. I gave this one 5 stars, but I'll probably rate the next one a little lower since (If I'm right) you're planning on moving him back in with the ho. Thanks for the story.

Like the story But:

Why is it every guy in these stories has a big cock? I thought the average size was 5-6 inches, I guess none of these guys are average at all. Another sore point in a lot of these stories is.....all of a sudden they did this or that but never had time for their wife and we're working all the time. For example: He took dance lessons, he started back with his flying lessons, he is a crack shot with a rifle because of the many times he went hunting I guess and on top of all this he is a fucking fantastic lover...geez when did he find time to work...but he can't stop his wife from fucking around and his great friends, one just like a sister won't tell him that his wife is screwing around behind his back.. This guy is just too unbelievable!!! In my opinion it causes the story to become kinda lame. I figure in the next chapter he is going to become a gold gloves champion from his college days or something else that is just as silly.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 8 years ago

The author has developed quite a bit of general skill as a writer. As usual with the better offerings on Lit there is plenty to like. Conversations flow well, as does the action from scene to scene (at least until the ponderous Afgahnistan debacle).

The sex scenes were good, if somewhat overdone, even superhuman at times. Does a woman really ride her guy for an hour, though? That was thrown out like it was their normal thing. Among all of the three or four couplings during each of their sex romps she jumps up and rides him for an hour. An hour, really? Maybe once in a while there would be a really long screw, but when she gets on top to warm up a bit it's an hour? That's gotta be a pretty raw pussy she has there. At least he isn't circumsized. Bet you missed that. I mean they are young and all horny, but hours and hours and all night screws with a typical American cut cock would be brutal on a girl's poor pussy. Thanks, Dr. Lifschitz!

At any rate, Karen's part in it is enjoyable. She definitely has fun, but she is also a little impish, too. It gives their interactions variety and depth. Well done.

That in itself is why there was so much disappointment to be felt when our protagonist allows the whole thing to go off the rails. So, the new sexed-up acrobat girlfriend, who is as hot and also as hot a fuck as you could ever expect to find, has a half-baked excuse from Psychology 101 that preempts marriage and that's how they leave it when he jets off to Afganistan?

He's already been with the girlfriend a long time and the marriage issue has, inexplicably, only now breached the surface. Yet, she seems very willing to marry as long as they work through this tenuously posited problem - the ghost of his ex-wife. My feelings right away were, what the fuck, he doesn't have to go to Crappistan. He can bag himself a perfect trophy wife who is actually the real thing. He could dump that job and work it out with her. What civilian job expects a guy to work in a war zone anyway?

The point is that after all of the absolutely unnecessary and ponderous events of the Afghanistan sequence he gets back and the girlfriend gets one or two lines and that's it? Oh, it's over. No clarification on her insight into his relationship with the ex. No background or foreground, or anything. Poof!

That really was inexcusable and wrecks the story. Maybe the relationship was all sex and would not survive the rigors of regular everyday life. But that was rather abrupt. And the psychological pseudo-explanation was rather stupid and patently unsupported.

Well, I'll eat my words if he doesn't get back with his dipshit cheatin' wife, but this whole thing screams reconciliation. She was a stupid self-absorbed long-time cheater, but now it's recon time? Well, he ate her trashed and cum filled pussy before, right? Don't tell me he didn't gobble a few swimmers in there.

I just don't see what the point is. Like the commenter remarked previously, if the ex has concealed children from the husband's goodbye fuckfest then Heaven help her. That would be beyond egregious.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 9 years ago
Sherrie could stand on her head and bark like a seal

But nothing she does will change what she DID! Even though it seems like she's had his kids (no direct mention but enough clues) there is no reason to ever consider taking her back. And this guy is a dummy. He should never be dating people he works with. That's Company Policy 101. If you let them reconcile you are going to get bombed.

The Future:

I haven't read chapter 3 yet but the cryptic, Sherrie's two roommates remark leads me to believe that the last night Sherrie and Ron spent together, resulted in pregnancy (a set of twins). I better be wrong and they had better be two damned cats or dogs! As for their last sexual romp. Unless I missed something, who eats a whore's snatch! Caresses her breasts to arouse her? Plays with her clit? I thought Ron was going to treat Sherrie like the skanky whore she was. Who cares about making sure a whore has multiple orgasms? Did I miss a part where he changed his mind and was going to give the cheating slut the best sex of her life as a last hurrah? I skipped the entire descriptive scene of Sherri and. Ron's last night of sex because I wouldn't have touched that cunt's body with ANY emotion resembling love. Hell, not even f-ing like! If those roommates turn out to be babies then his fake ass friends and Sherrie deserve a bullet to the f-ing forehead! If he winds up with Sherrie in chapter 3 his ass is grass because I'm loading my literary shotgun right now to blast a hole between his punk ass eyes and then I'm reloading it because the space between your eyes is next.

EYE OPENING SITUTATION

YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT IS HIDDEN IN YOUR MIND JUST WAITING TO GET OUT. SURE SHERRIE WAS WRONG ACTING LIKE A SPOILED BRAT BUT I DO THINK SHE STILL LOVES HIM AND I FEEL THAT RON STILL LOVES HER. very good story and Karen knows something that she refuses to give up to Ron.

Much as I hate to say it,

it looks like Sherrie is going to get him back. I really hope not, was holding out for this writer to have a conscience and not go all "cuck is ok" on us. Time will tell. Good writer, good story. I just don't see how the man he created in this story would nut up and bend over. Like I said after the first installment, he should have dumped the friends too. Gonna cause him a lot of problems.

Losing points as we go forward. Down to 3 stars. Hope it doesn't go to 1.

Please, NOT Sherrie!

If he re-marries Sherrie, he validates Karen's doubts about them.

If/when he marries someone else, Karen will realize what she threw away.

Mixed Feelings?

I don't know why Melissa had mixed feelings about seeing Ron in love with Karen.

She herself was upset at Sherrie's actions, why would she expect Ron not to move on?

And Sherrie - she sees her DIVORCED husband DANCING with another woman, and THAT lets her know how her husband felt seeing another man's hands up her dress? There is NO comparison!

What is this shit?

Everyone knows that unlike the rest of us, if a woman cheats on her husband, she can never change. As long as she doesn't cheat, she is in the same space time continuum as anyone else and is able to regret the poor choices she's made, and make better choices going forward. But should she commit adultery, she goes into some kind of stasis and is locked out of normal time and space; unable to change from that point on. Ok, it doesn't sound plausible, but everyone knows "Once a cheater, always a cheater". I mean I must have read that at least a million times since finding this site. I can't claim to understand it and I sure as hell can't explain it; I'm just glad that I've been able to learn from my dumb ass, immature, self-centered choices and grow up!

Sherrie

Sherrie finally came to light on what she had done and hates herself for it. being child like and than growing up has made her realize that the best thing she had she took for granet and threw it away.

One of the best authors ever

"Well...that's what I thought, but after a while it was clear the girl was absolutely overwhelmed, totally ashamed of what she'd done with that man in Vegas and more ashamed of seeing him after she came home."

Yep, you bet. So fucking ashamed she continued to spread her legs and give him the easy mark, the big fucking hairy infected hole between her legs. The one she was sharing with her husband so she could knowingly infect him with any sort of the clap and HIV. Fuck, so ashamed................

Enjoying it

Thanks for the offering. Five stars.

I was wrong.

I commented, after part 1, that the story was finished. My thinking was that Sherrie's cheating had been so terrible that there was no chance in hell for a reconciliation. So I guess Sherrie's two roommates were conceived on their last night together. And he almost refused to perform.

Karen, why?

While I understand Karen's reluctance to go against Sherrie's "ghost", I don't understand her breaking up with him without giving him a chance to "exorcise" it.

I am starting to understand Sherrie

The author did a good job of explaining her fall from grace. She liked the dirty excitement of it all. That is more plausible than "I was drunk, and angry at you, the bright lights" *****

How long you going to wait to spring the silly ass two roommates details on us - if we are still around for that long?

Nice

A bit rambling, but that fits real life doesn't it? In real life, Karen would have been perfect for him, but she won't accept most of him. She wants all or none. Sad for her but then she isn't real either, is she? I love where this is going if he still does care for Sherrie in his heart. Real love trumps all the opinions given by all the commenters on this site. Makes me wonder if they ever have felt such...
