Dress him out and serve him up. Wonderfully imaginative and perfectly seasoned.

Thank you.

Hope it isn't too subtle!

Those of us that like to read, and comment, on stories here at Lit need to read this. If you don't get it, well, it won't be a surprise. Many won't. This writer is a treasure. Intelligent humor and imaginative plots flow from his mind. He will rise to the top of this site, and who knows after that. A clever story written by a real talent.

It's so gratifying to have a talented writer like Marsh put words to the thoughts I've often had. Most excellant!

Somehow you did it!

I didn't think anyone could really add to the delicious piece SweetWitch cooked up. You proved me wrong!

Hated to have to read this

While the story is great, excellent satire, I really would have rather read the next chapter of the MILF story or the Gigolo story.

Sorry that the feedback the authors receive is not thought out. If I don't like an author's style, I go to another.

I thank you and the other respondents to this story for sending me to SweetWitch. I will be reading her as well as your future submittals.

You nailed the whole troll thing completely. Very witty, thanks for the amusing read!

Quite Imaginative & Impressively Written But

here's the rest of the real story.

Hmmm, lets use baseball since even most writers know a little about it [ no good troll would pass up any opportunity like that].

Writers are like pitchers - some very good - some average - some learning - some who should just watch. Now there never has been a pitcher who won every game - some were just clinkers - an off day if you will. Others never had a good one but continued to sling it.

When a pitcher is trying to improve and improvement is noted from story to - I mean game to game that's good and everybody can see it - well most can.

However, when a pitcher tries to hit a reader unfairly with a slimeball, spitball or stinkerball showing no respect for the hitter or himself that pisses off the natives - I mean the fans and the umps. So when the hitter can't charge the mound after being disrespected time after time it's kind of like the comments being turned off.

The hitter & crowd get frustrated - begin boooing and putting pine tar way up his bat in retaliation for the pitchers unfairness. The scorekeeper sees the crowd reaction and gives the pitcher errors every time he can to try to get his attention even though he doesn't have a silly name tag on.

This forces the pitcher to complain to everyone he can that no one likes his work but still won't change or doesn't give a damn. So being a free speech league there ain't no one to tell the pitcher to sit down or go away so the cycle cycles rejects as long as some or a few sadists like cruelty and demeanment without consequence - well until they tire of him for another who has a higher percentage of crude absurd deception and hits more batters about the mind and shoulders.

And so it goes until, a quite good writer (even some Authors) decide to defend their fellow scribers - I mean pitchers - regardless of how they bring down the average for the league. This of course lessens their credibility garnered by all their hard work to entertain. I mean even a sibling or drunk shouldn't be defended or excused ad finitum - or should he or she. We can't take away the right of the drunk to drink but we don't encourage him to drive during rush hour - do we?

Just Planely, even Pete Rose was evicted for ignoring what was clearly write. In the expectation for his reasonable and fair use of his abilities in the game of life and entertainment, he eventually met consequence for his lack of respect for those who played fairly with balance, respect and reason.

Why are some comments regarded as meaningful while others aren't. Like stories some have little content and skill in preparation.

What a wicked pleasure to read!

Like the other "marshalien" works I've read ... elegantly written, brilliantly polished, and deliciously barbed. A HUGE treat. Thanks Marsh!

Delightful, simply delightful!

I really enjoyed this little essay. You caught the spirit of literotica very well, and put your own twist on it.

Thanks for putting a real smile on my lips.

OMFG!

Outstanding Marsh! That is the funniest thing I've read to date! After reading some comments from "Symon Anou" and "Mona Yonus" it's about time we ended up with a "dead troll" on the floor! Short, Sweet and to-the-point! The saying goes: "Revenge is a dish best served cold" in this case it was served up with hot humor and hot action. Thanks again!

This put the smile back on my face!

Having spent the day marking student assignments, and these the poorer students, who always take five times as long to mark, I needed cheering up. So I started reading this little gem. And was duly cheered up. A lot! Excellent work, and having suffered a few trollings myself, although usually the 'one-vote-knock-it-down' kind, rather than those who can actually write something, I loved the claim that 'The part of the troll was played by actual anonymous public comments'. Yes, that I believe!

Keep up the good work.

Troll-ishious

Comments can be frustrating, especially when the rater is neither a author him self, or especially well read. It takes some amount of skill to properly critique a story. Most critics will simply judge a story of how it makes one feel, while ignoring literary style and linguistic imagery. Some few will critique the literal sentence structure and completely ignore the art.

All in all, every rating must be taken with a barge-load of salt, as I doubt that the majority of readers are professional critics, and will not know how to properly translate their complaints into constructive criticisim.

I loved the literary twists that this story had and loved both the similies, and the contrasts. well thought out for such a short story.

I am still laughing over this...

Marsh, your ability to express the writer's experience in a setting of a cafe is simply ingenious. It brings it to a point that those of us who are not writers can relate.

Thanks again for sharing your stories with us!

Can't add much...

I read this right after SweetWitch's "Troll Hunting" and found them both hilarious. I've only submitted a couple of stories so far, and thankfully haven't been visited by trolls. Although in some way, it's almost worse NOT to get any comments, because I don't really know how people feel other than from the ratings, which have both been above 4.

I have, on the other hand, READ a lot of stories over the years, and have read tons of the inane, irrelevant, cruel, and just plain stupid anonymous comments. There is quite a clear difference between constructive criticism, which I try to give (and ALWAYS under my name), and merely trashing someone's work.

I've left a much longer comment on SweetWitch's story, so please feel free to check out that one, as it pertains to your story as well. I'd also like to pass along that I found both of you through evanslily's favorites list, and I will be reading more of both of your work. I've found some great writers by looking at other great writers' favorites lists. To me, that is the ultimate compliment a writer can pay to another's work!

Thanks for the laugh, and I look forward to reading more! PJ

Not sure

how I feel about this but it is a very clever piece of writing. Even the intro is cool. I rated it a 5 because you did such a good job. Just came across this one and am glad I found it.

Thanks for your hard work.

How do you manage?

How is it possible to actually spit out intelligent, witty prose with your tongue so firmly planted in your cheek? Most people would just slur and spit everywhere. I say again, you are sorely missed

Loved it.

Actually better, IMO, than the sequel, Witching Hour, which I'd read first.

Of course, now that I've read Witching Hour, I'm going to have to check out SweetWitch's stories. Danielle Kitten's already one of my favorite authors, and if an Author as good as you like's SweetWitch's work I figure that it must be good.
