I liked this chapter but think it would have been better if the thing in the lake just pushed David's mind into thinking more like Roy and sent him like it did Smith to convert as many people as possible into doing what the thing in the lake wants and protecting it from discovery by reprogramming the government agents to think it was just a hoax.
