That was an awfully long way to go to get to the pun(ch) line.

The story's not bad but it's not the best. Short stories usually are this way. There's no character dynamic but all in all, it wasn't the worst story I've seen

This should be absolutely legal to do whenever one spouse catches another in an affair. The only stipulation would be, collect incontrovertible evidence so that a grand jury can absolve the injured spouse of any crime.

In this case Charlie could have collected photos or video of:

• Frank driving his red truck,

• Frank unloading his tree in his driveway,

• Karen's arrival and her kissing Frank in his driveway,

• Frank and Karen having sex in his upstairs bedroom.

At the most Charlie could be charged with illegal entry as he snuck in the back door.
