And one hell of setting to boot. A bit fast paced, but that might also be due my slight inebriation at the moment. Good stuff. Would also like to see some from the Shadow Dagger Universe, but you keep to your own schedule.
Several sentences caught me, but this especially in defining the bleakness of a bad moment: "Stars rarely shone down in this hellhole of a city, as if the city wasn't worthy of their light."
And so we confront the extinguishing of life vs survival, bad vs good, human against...well, that all remains to be seen.
You are one fine craftsperson, and fantasy is a proven medium for our art. Write on!
OUTSTANDING start! It was a very exciting chapter, you're a very skilled story teller. Well done. More please.
I found one error, it did not detract from the story but noticeable. "I'm not only your boss but also you're partner." you're should be your
enjoyed shadow dagger so much.
already got me thinking if gabrielle/elizabeths's mum was a cancer patient!
looks like they're going to be a hot couple.
looking forward to the next chapter already. more please ;0)
Awesome start Austin, I love vampire stuff, looking forward to seeing this unfold
Yes, Daniel is a monster - by definition, anyway. He is a vampire.
Yes, he is a predator who must kill to survive.
But he is an oncologist (i assume) and apparently a pretty good one ...
And he doesn't kill indiscriminately ...
And he eases those who would otherwise die in pain and suffering peacefully and painlessly on the way ...
So, no - i don't see him as a monster; i see him as a tachypomp - though there are those - people who see death itself as evil - who see them as monsters.
Over ten years since this story was written, it is pretty damn good !
i accept that these stories are written as fiction, Though at the same time I know the darkness of fear is real !
Any monster that man may conceive is real. So long as man has fear, the monsters will survive.
Death does happen to every living thing. We know this to be true, But will the mind of a human live on ?
Is death the definite end to the mind of man ?
I think not ! I hope not. Will the mind know the body has failed but enjoy further existence ?
Think about it !
