Very nice, very nice. He's in love with two women - a mother and her daughter - and has a family with both. There's something romantic about it despite the cheating on his wife. She probably suspected for a while and probably knows by the end, but is accepting of it because she sees just how happy her mother is and knows her husband must truly love her, so doesn't mind sharing him.

Of course a funny twist would be that she has also been having a secret affair this whole time. Oh, and her kids are from some other guy.
