...so, I have to tell everyone because I worked really hard on this stupid un-joke, I just want to make sure all you readers know this: Despite the Flash Gordon styling and silly flourishes, every single part of this story is as scientifically accurate as I can make it.

A water powered atomic rocket really CAN get into orbit, ships have radiators, and every piece of technology referred to in a pulp fiction way is a real one. For example, to give you a freebie, a "communication ray" is just a laser beam being used to pulse information - which is used in real life! That's what characters on The Expanse refer to as a "tightbeam."

...no, I will not stop the blue coal bit either.

I always love to see a adventure from you, have you considered publishing any of your stories?

It reminds me of Flash Gordon and other old movie serials.
