SUREFOOT

Is everything ok?

We haven't seen a November update yet? Usually you're very punctual, hope to see the next chapter soon.

Hi Trek1!

Thanks for asking! I've been busy at home, moving into working full time and chasing up insurance claims for cancelled vacations (I will be glad when this damned pandemic is history), but you should see something new up here soon. Or you can come visit my website to see stories posted there first, along with some cool illustrations and other special features :-)

I can understand how rude it would be to refer to Non-Binary Misc. Sextilis Magna Bellator as 'it', which is the technically correct non-plural ambisexual pronoun, so I am really surprised that 24th century persons have not invented a more acceptable pronoun for NBs. I find the use of plural pronouns totally confusing in a story like this.

Maybe this is the author's point, to point out the stupidity of them wishing to be called plurals?

BTW, this post is not meant to cause offence or controversy, but just to open a sensible discussion on an aspect highlighted in this story.

HI Graham, and thank you for reading and commenting on my stories! As for Bellator's pronoun, well, I feel that, in an environment that will not only allow for 300+ years of advancement but a galaxy-wide vista of races of perhaps many, many genders and variations thereof, that there will be many preferred pronouns in use. Bellator prefers "they/them", but others might prefer something different.

Though this is set in the 24th Century, we are still anchored in the 21st. But I know it wouldn't stand out so much if my Surefoot stories were filmed with live actors, or maybe even animated (Hey, Paramount, call me and we'll set up something to prove that, okay? LOL)
