All 3 main characters are very real and sympathetic

I liked the story but was puzzled by one thing. When his mom gave Mrs. Fox a check for his "services" (btw, what sane woman gives a stranger they just met a check to pay for a prostitute?) wouldn't he have seen his mother's name and address on the check? Just curious.

I thought this was a very good story, especially at the end where it counted.

The check thing caught me as well but maybe in her maiden name too keep it separate from dad seeing it? In which case a matching first name means nothing.

Not the perfect explanation but in the end it doesn't matter at all as it was a fantastic story and as his other stories, I hope for more chapters.
