I think if you would take the time to read some like-minded stories you would learn

something and as a result become a better writer. While your story has some merit it

assumes to much of the reader, your story doesn't portray enough information to

begin to develop in the reader's mind the overall picture that, "you are here and this is

how it looks", to give the reader the settings of the story. Please remember, an assumption is never positive, the word assume consists of, ass u me, I prefer not to be a part of the ass.
