just for the description on how the math all works!

Oh, and for a good, well written story.

Thank you!

Sorry old Buddy, but this one does NOT come up to the standard of your other submission of the day. When I read it I saw a couple who successfully forgave, what was probably a cheating incident, by the wife. Only the very last paragraph varies from that line of thought. Too little too late! 3 stars. cd

Very unclear. Vague. You did not get your thoughts through to your reader. One star

So-So for me. Not punched enough for a flash story in my humble opinion.

Still, I love a free story.

I LOVE the math ...

I get so very tired of stories where the characters are given ages that are irreconcilable with their good-paying jobs and their just-left-the-nest children, so that the wife can be in her early 40's to be preyed on.

Hoorah!!

Interesting story. Here is my family timelines. My father’s mother was 43 years old when she gave birth to my father. My father was 33 when I was born so there was 76 years difference between me and my paternal grandparents. I was 10 when they both passed away.

I’m sorry, but I couldn’t understand the story. It was over my head, I just didn’t get it.

At first, I was wondering where we were going, right up to the end. A wonderful piece of writing done in a short story. It is normally hard to get a five star rating from me. It was easy this time.

It certainly works. I'm 81, divorced and got the great-grandchild. I just avoid going to any family get-togthers these days.

Just_Words, I don't know how you keep coming up with such fresh ideas. This is so well written. An excellent short short!

@Calico75 - You are very kind. The truth is I'm just a contrarian, so if everyone else does it one way, I need to do it the other way. That gets me into trouble plenty of times. Be well and thank you for the compliment.

I suppose I write for many of the same reasons that others do. First, I am exorcising my demons. I use writing to explore my thoughts and emotions, sometimes embracing, and perhaps ridding myself of, my darker thoughts and sometimes finding happier themes to celebrate. It s...
