Glad to see this, although I wasn't glad with how poorly it went for Praxis--to say nothing of how Damian befuddled him to boot.
I'm glad the king of Corinth feels confident with Praxis, and that he now has a good friend in Agemon: it is a good idea to have him begin training Corinthians, and that will provide you opportunities to showcase how fit he can be in doing so. You certainly provide us comic relief at poor Agemon's expense over Cora; I would also like to see Praxis help him learn how to talk to her. Doesn't matter if she's really plain, as so long as Agemon wants her, he should at least develop the speaking skill and charm necessary to win her over. You've already hinted you're considering employing Agemon to hamstring Xanthos in some way, and I too would love to see it!
It became obvious Astara's father exposed himself as a complete jackass, but it confuses a reader to stumble upon the "great leap" of him binding her to Xanthos. We have Nico and Astara that obviously like Praxis and regard him well; it befuddles a reader to see her father not honor his word, since he was hardly so "aggrieved" as to hastily overstep so far. You DO hint that "the fates" might finally smile on Praxis and reverse such ridiculous blows he's suffered, and you have possibilities in the form of Xanthos' stupidity and the coming Spartan garrison. While we can enjoy Agemon billed as the "comic relief," we're none the wiser as to why Praxis' father left, whom he was, why his mother won't speak of him, and what other things Praxis may believe as to why either "outrageous fortune" disproportionately enjoys beating on him...so I'm hoping we see some items illuminated to at least have a few crusts of bread to munch on to stave off our hunger while you execute your plan to fully educate us on these matters. 4
Great series. Watch your back Praxis you are in danger and so is your mother.
