Jack and Josephine show a great ability to weave setting elements (primarily in the dialog) into the story that evoke classic film noir. While young Mr. Merriman is cunning beyond his years, his character is sufficiently nuanced to allow the reader to successfully suspend disbelief. Maybe the young Mr. Merriman is Encyclopedia Brown's evil and smarter younger brother?

You are an incredibly talented writer and this is a fantastic series, but umm...one minor detail that bugged me in this chapter: the word 'boss' in spanish is spelled with a 'j', not an 'h'.

I'm loving this story. The two of you are great writers and I cannot wait for the next installment.
Love this story and I'm happy to see it continue. The wait was a little long though :( .
The characters are all developing very well. The subplots with Caroline and Heather are very interesting and looking forward to see where they go. The mystery with the test cheat was well done. Ben is a cool character and a great protagonist.
Looking forward to #03, so I hope we see it.
Really love this. The way you leave hints of possible plots, such as the principal, the step sister and of course the blonde bombshell he adores. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
There is lots here to work into a longer story. Will there be more?
I dont want to push you but how long do we have to wait for #3 im really looking forward to read the next chapter.
There are two stories to finish up and one just beginning! Please, let us know what happened.
A pleasure
Refreshing, well written and imaginative.
Obviously a talented duo!
Looking forward to see much more

Looking forward to more of this... great characterization and development...
great mix of anticipation and payoff -- can't wait for either father or son to get their chance with caroline... (or both?)
Please continue this story as I find it one of the very best and am looking forward to the rest of the story.
are u still writing? it's been a while since your last story came out
