I thought this was a great start. I think what I liked about it is that it left me wondering..what's his name? why are they alone? Where is their circle of friends? Is this a date? What movie are they watching? This story literally said nothing about the characters, except that they were acquaintances and watching a movie and something about him liking animals. But it worked.
