Answer to Chytown - Polly Garter is a character in Under Milk Wood who manages to have numerous lovers and children by different ones. Thomas describes her as having a 'body like a wardrobe' - in other words promiscuous.

However, the reference in this case, at the end of the story, is that Carol was reading the part of Polly Garter. So Polly was getting a permanent lover

Short and Great! Not too heavy on intimate overdone sex but nice, in a Brit sort of way. Very few typos. Wishing the author growth.
