Oh boy ...

This story was kinda fucked up, at least the beginning, but once there was some actual fucking, it felt alright in the end.

Let me air my grievances first, and then I'll sing your praises. Don't worry, you still got 5 stars from me, just because ... here I stand and I can't do otherwise, so help me God.

I suppose the conflict with Helen reflected something happening with her contemporary counterpart, and of course this causes distress. The distress must find an outlet, hence the troubled scene marred with jealousy and followed by a breakup.

Will the Great Augustine provide solace? Yes and no. Augustine's preaching about being saved by God's unconditional love rather than by our own actions has a better ring to it than Pelagius' stern advice of being responsible and taking action. But then the great preacher screws it up by turning the closest thing to unconditional love we can have in this world - intimacy between two people committed to each other - into devil's work we should abstain from. This from a man who lived with his mistress for 14 years, had a son with her, never considered marrying her, and as soon as he discovered his holiness, he abandoned his family and let them fend for themselves. What a hippo-crite!

It's very clear that Carwen had to get out of there. We are treated to a fighting scene with daggers and swords, which BTW would not have happened if Jesus himself had been present. The other day Jesus didn't appreciate when Peter drew his sword to defend him against the Romans who came to arrest and crucify him.

Fortunately, Stumpy is a woman of action and therefore saves Carwen. See? Actions matter when we need to be saved. Score one for Pelagius.

I feel that the story was written in the moment, as a reaction to something unexpected, an unforseen change of plans. Therefore it makes sense that everything is messy and conflicted, just like life itself. Even the typos feel almost intentional, to underscore all the stress and trouble.

Fortunately there is love, physical love, an affirmation of life worth living. And it's not an escape from reality. Stumpy and Bella don't say good bye to Carwen after the fun has been had. They commit to following Carwen on her journey, now that Helen had abandoned her.

Travel safe, Carwen, with the love and protection of all your friends. Thank you for the courage of writing and sharing moments of trouble and of joy with us.

Happy 2nd Literotica Anniversary

Dear Pixiehoff,

Congratulations and Happy 2nd Anniversary as a member / author on Literotica. I believe few authors submitted more stories, to keep their readers entertained, than you have during this COVID-19 pandemic crisis.

I find it ironic that God wanted us to share this date together. So please, grant my

Birthday wish and send me the final four names, on your Influential People’s List. All I want for my birthday is to complete a commitment, that I made to a wonderful person, with a huge, magical, and pure Pixie heart.

So please Ms. Pixiehoff, find it in your heart to send me these names, so I can complete my portion of your “Dream Story.”

Again, Happy 2nd Literotica Anniversary and Enjoy your Special Day,

Than as now: now as then?

I found your paragraph about the different ways of receiving Communion interesting. When I turned my back on my Catholicism very many years ago, the Host was placed directly onto the tongue by the priest. Several years back I went to a family funeral (good Irish Catholics all) and at the Mass saw that things had changed. The Host was now placed into the communicants' hands. What goes around comes around I guess.

I also had a little smile at the thought of Crocodile Dundee in ancient times ("That's not a knife...") even if technically it was a short-sword. As always, Pixie, I love your writing regardless of what genre you turn your hand to.

I think I died and went to heaven

Bella's words most certainly sum up my feelings about this chapter, despite the betrayal of Helen.

What else can I say about it? There was drama, action, and eroticism. There were saints (Augustine) and sinners (pretty much everyone else, LOL). There was heaven and hell. And in the end, there was happiness for Carwen. Let us hope Bella and Stumpy continue to be as wonderful to Carwen as they were during their sexual encounter. :)

Thank you, darling Amadeus, and yes, it does reflect the various tensions, which I tried to sublimate. Carwen has her support team now, and will face the next stage with more confidence. In it, the reasons for Valeria's hostility will become clearer, and Pelagius will have a part of play. Carwen is discovering that the Faith she has taken for granted has different expressions, and that her attempt to live by it is more complicated than life in Britannia had suggested. The question for her is how to reconcile the tensions. xxxx

Thank you, Maonaigh. Yes, the difference is one much commented on in RC circles, and is a difference between them and the Orthodox. Glad you liked th Crocodile Dundee reference - I sometime think I put these things in for you xxxx
