All Comments on 'The Epiphany of Bryan Whiting'

This story left me feeling that it was unfinished. I understand that Bryan's epiphany was that the future was uncertain that what would happen would in it's own time. But clearly you meant to give the impression that the love they professed for each other was uncertain and not strong enough to promise they would be true to each other, or that they would even stay in communication. Jenny only says that she will "try" to write, which is pretty weak and sounds like a good bye for good. The epilogue said nothing about letters written, so one would assume there had not been any and that the love affair was in the past. You did not even choose to have Bryan mention he had written with no response, it was just five weeks and ......................silence.

In addition your narrative had a lot to do with the awakening of Jenny as a woman, finally discovering sex was marvelous and that she had a kinky side she had not known about. You made a point of the Sister who was pregnant and unhappy showing Jenny her porno videos, both of them with well endowed black men dominating women. There is no doubt a tie in with the summer spent in Haiti again and a needful single woman among many black men and then a year in Paris with the much more permissive sexual attitudes found there.

There seems to be little doubt at this point that Jenny will not be coming back to him and if she does come back to the same college, she will not be the same young woman who left. I suppose you could write a sequel and take it either way and some readers would be happy and others not. There is a very interesting back story with the rods in Jenny's back and how that happened, or did I miss something?

Disappointing that he ended up with the flaky neighbor. He & Jen had a relationship & lots of sex. Why exactly could they not admit they loved one another?

Really enjoyed this. Guess u was hoping he ended up with Jenny somehow. I get there was something with erica but him and Jenny had something real. Nicely written
