"What were you guys doing up here? This is almost the furthest point north from town. Don't you know how dangerous it is to go into the forest without equipment?" He asked sternly.
I didn't reply and just watched him clean the wound.
"Where is William?" I wondered to myself.
The guy told me his name. Ernie. He finished cleaning my foot and was now trying to reach someone on the radio. About a minute later and him walking in circles, he reached someone and notified them about our location.
"Don't worry young man. We'll get you home safe." He said as he placed his hand on my right shoulder and knelt next to me.
"You guys have to find William! Please. He is alone and I'm scared he might get hurt or get lost." I felt a tear fall on my cheek.
"Don't worry. We will find him." He said and smiled.
I tilted my head down and rested my chin on my knee as we sat and waited.

Anonymousabout 1 year agoI’m glad you decided to finish this story. You’d left all of your stories kind of suspended on cliffhangers, but this was the biggest one. We literally spent years wondering if the MC was going to make it home alive. And now William is missing, but we’re trusting your word. 😊🤔
