When this book started TwistedMisery wrote continually and updated fairly regularly when a chapter didn't come out quick enough for those of us hoping to have it sooner. Now Nothing! Why? Bothers me! Oh, you updated your Biography on 6/17...three months ago...but you are doing exactly what sooooo many of the writers do. Wait for the last chapter and then either disappear (taking their book to Amazon with them) or don't show up again for over a year! I swear I'm going to not read anymore on here or at least check to make sure the book is finished before I start it! Look at HisPet21 (The Rebellious Slave)...wrote continually until she disappeared for 13 months without a word. Came back just to say she didn't disappear and that she, of course, was continuing the book...wrote two more chapters and disappeared not to be heard from since. Same with Pandarus...the running joke being "please don't pull a Pandarus"....he just vanished! I understand if the story isn't going to be finished! I understand that I am reading on here for free! I understand the author's have lives! Believe me, I get it! What I do not understand is the lack of communication! Take time (5 minutes tops) to post a comment saying something...anything...even if it is to say...sorry won't be back! I'd prefer to know! Anyway, I don't have my hopes up anymore that this will be continued! Not sure why I bothered to check today!

Yes, I also would like for the authors to let us know whether a story is going to be finish or not. I understand that their circumstances may not allow them to finish their work, not that they have to obviously; just it would be good to know.

These authors simply lost interest in writing.

That's why they don't even return to this website.

I'd just pick a completed story before I start to read it, otherwise, I will end up sorely disappointed if there was no closure.

I get the distinct impression they write themselves into a corner with some of their cliffhangers and can't find a way out. That because they don't have the discipline to hold back and rethink. Instead they post out of energy and urgency hoping the ending or the fix will come. Maybe instead they should walk away from the laptop for a spell instead of posting what clearly isn't going to work. Stop, think, get creative! and get the ending or next chapter squared away before posting impulsively.

Emma's Master eventually was more like a short story. I think it accidentally summed things up by chapter 4. Oops. What to do, what to do. How about the 27 or so chapters I invested in about the vampire. With promises of an ending. The story just got too out there to finish decently and 'believably'. Then the Hamish story. Both were art. But alas, unfinished. I would never write without knowing the ending. It's not life, it's art at its best. Painters know when something is crap and start over. Movies aren't made without a completed story. Don't write if you're not up for it, or post it in a blog somewhere else. Harsh. I know. I'm sorry. But also fed up.

I got into the spirit of venting (rare for me) after reading and feeling a kinship with the other commenters above me. TwistedMisery, and to other writers, I stand by my words, but wish there was a Reades Vent tab so that writers could understand the frustration or others comments from Reades in general, vs. having to see it attached to your stories.

I didn't write myself into a corner. I also didn't abandon writing, lol. I'm in the middle of working on two different novels while trying to juggle life's complications. Posting on here is something I do for fun when I have time. I just haven't had the time, lol. Sorry about the frustration... but as I've stated before... I get to it when I can. I'll probably end up splitting up the last chapter since it's taking so long.

I probably won't post anymore stories on here that endure for longer than a single chapter because there's a level of impatience that I'm not sure I can satisfy with my schedule. I appreciate the commitment to the story though. Life just has a way of stealing all of your time sometimes.

I clearly know some are in the middle of working on different things, like outstanding novels, while trying to juggle life's complications. Commenting on here is something I do for the sole purpose of praising the author when I have the words to express just how wondeful I feel the writing is. I just was having a moment of truth about my feelings of said abandoned stories. Sorry about the frustration... but as I've stated before... I was having a moment. I'll probably end up splitting this last paragraph since it's taking so long.

I probably won't post anymore venting comments here that endure for longer than any notes of praise because of my insensitivity that I'm not sure even I can handle with my insensitive impatience issues. I appreciate your commitment to the story though. Life just has a way of getting under one's skin some of the time sometimes.

why do people that are very good at writing write 9 chapters to a story and then do not finish it. it is a great story with great characters so why not finish it. seems to be a waste of time when the story isn't finished. but then again i am not a writer just a displeased reader.

Don't feel pressure to finish! Being a writer is incredibly reliant on one's mood, and I can imagine you need to be in a certain mood to write this story and do it justice. We all love this story, so take as much time as you need. I'm pretty sure you're the George R. R. Martin of Literotica, and he doesn't buckle under pressure either! Keep on being the amazing talent you are.
