All Comments on 'The Incubus'

Lovely story, great twist, try not to repeat descriptive words so closely, a good rule is just to think that everything you write should show the reader something they don't already know, something they won't expect to come next. Cacophony was used incorrectly, as it specifically describes sound. Consider Amalgam or just mixture instead. The plot and details are well described and in good proportion to the content, although additional explanation of the emotions conveyed through dialog would be nice in my opinion. Nonetheless, concerning my alleged misuse of the word "cacophony," I would like to clarify that I did not, in fact, misuse the word and that I do know what it means. There is a literary device known as "synesthesia," which refers to when a writer uses language that is normally used to describe one sense to instead describe a different sense. When I say that there was a "cacophony" of smells, I'm using figurative language. You can find examples of this literary device here:

dhawthorne180, all I did was leave one comment under one of your stories in which I gave you some very polite suggestions for improvement, but you got really offended at that and started leaving abusive comments under all my stories, calling me a "bitch" and telling me to kill myself. There's someone to blame here, but it sure isn't me.
