This story could just as easily have been classified in the Fantasy genre, as it is not strictly medieval in nature (e.g. the use of the word "goddess" at one point). That said, this story has marvelous characters, a nice buildup, an unusual and engaging background, and a beautifully written love scene. This chapter needs to be followed by many more, not only to provide a more thorough explanation for how things led up to the events of this chapter, but also because the heroine is so appealing and seems to be on the verge of great adventures. Let us hope that this chapter is the start of a real saga. It certainly deserves it, just as Danaeluv the author deserves Five Stars for this story.
