I liked the fact that the characters had personality - every single one of them. Charlie is the hipster who is so above it all, Grav (sorry, can't spell his name, so I will call him Miska from now on) knows what he wants and that's attractive.

Kudos for it reading like a story, with the set up and the long pay off. I don't know what's the sudden interest in black women and russian men (have been seeing this sort of pairing around in the past couple of years), but I can dig it.

I honestly don't understand how I was supposed to feel anything but dislike for Charlie. She is one of those people who expects the world to be handed to them on a silver platter, and then when it is, she gets pissed off because the platter is slightly tarnished. I mean, this line:

"Either way they were too wrapped up in their own petty lives to pay her much attention."(said in regards to her parents)

Petty? Wow. It takes a special kind of person to be that self-centered. Was she expecting to be the focal point of her parents lives for the rest of her life? She is in college, right? Not kindergarten? Were they just supposed to stop existing when she left home?

I hate hipsters as much as the next guy, but I would spend an entire night in a bar full of them before I would want to share a single drink with Charlie.

I was one of the many others that managed to read "The Long Weekend," when it first posted on Literotica.

Since then, I've read this story countless of times, over the years. And the thing is I've never had a visual perception of Charlie and of... "The Russian" (LOL!) until now.

As for Charlie, I see DeWanda Wise and for Gavril, I see Florian Munteanu.

To illwind: it wasn't implied that Charlie wanted to be the center of her parents lives as an adult. It was, however, implied very early in the story that she couldn't really count on them. A child is not supposed stop existing for her parents when leaving home.

Charlie definitely doesn't come of as self-centered.
