Josette is certainly an interesting character. I couldn't quite decide if she was only a were-cat or something more sinister beneath the feline persona. Whatever, it looked as if she did Alice one hell of a big favour in giving her the impetus to dump that waste of space Andrew. All round, an enjoyable little Halloween tale. If you ever feel up to it, I think you could probably get some more mileage out of Josette. Five stars.

Firstly, I meant to rate 5 stars but only 4 showed up and it wouldn`t let me change it.

Secondly, for the fact that I have been concentrating so much on looking out for the next episode of "Hard Landing" I almost missed this wonderful tale!

I had half expected Josette to turn up dressed as the Mad Hatter, but to turn up as the Chesire Cat was a stroke of genius on your part, coupled with the unexpected ending it could easily have been used as an episode of the Twilight Zone or Tales Of The Unexpected (UK TV series). OK I`ve just given my age away, sue me lol.

Great Halloween story.

Hot and spicy, just the right amount of zing.

I'd resist the calls for "more." Sometimes little jewels are perfect just by themselves in a soft velvet bag, and don't need a necklace to shine.

Great story. I didn't know the Chesire cat was female. The reverend never said. And he would have been shocked right out of his gaiters by this.

For me the ending was the best part; the cherry on top of the sundae. First line of a paragraph was separated by white space. (oops) Good job, Broken.

This is one of my favorite Halloween stories. I've been coming back to it each year, and it only gets better with each re-read.

I LOVE THIS! I can't believe I didn't comment the first time I read this. This was so much fun. Whimsical in nature. And poor Alice didn't know what she was getting into. I am a fan of Josette, she may be a Voodoo Princess, but she has style.
