Aria didn't hear or see the person who crept up behind her. The hilt of a sword came down on the back of her head. There was a flash of blinding pain, and she folded. Her legs provided some cushion for her fall, but her head still made sharp contact with the stone. Her eyes couldn't focus, but she thought she saw a flash of blond hair and a hand reaching down to her. She heard her name called, but it was muffled as if she was underwater. The hand moved quickly away from her, and that's when Aria lost consciousness.
