I appreciate the realism of the story. The pacing, the dialog, their reactions all seem genuine. Too bad Riley (and we) don't know what's going on in Rowan's head, but that's the way it goes in real life, too.

I really wanted to get to the story's ending, but I'm glad you took it slowly. Just two (and a half) steps forward. What can Riley do next? How long should she wait? How long can she hold out? I am anxiously awaiting the next part.
