I stared at the ceiling as my heart rate slowly returned to normal. 'This is crazy...' I thought 'and I can't bring myself to stop.' I got to my feet and grabbed the towel off the door hook to finally wash the sex off my skin. I picked my phone out of the back pocket of my jeans that were wadded up on the floor. There were two texts from Adriana.
The first read: "We can't see each other again... I'm sorry."
The second: "I took the pill... I'm sure you understand."

Having said that, it's refreshing to see an adult act like an adult.
Imagine a older woman with two college-age kids putting common sense ahead of lust by taking the bloody pill. What a concept!!!
Logically, she would be looking forward to getting the kids out of the house, not tying herself down with a child for the next 19 years....possibly as a single parent...and even under the best of circumstances, tied to a man she had known for less than a day.
But we all know people do weird, illigical, counter intuitive things all the time.
It's called being human.
