Wrong category. Sure, it qualifies as Sci-Fi. But it's a horror story in a Sci-Fi setting.

I like this twist, you did well!

Definitely different from my usual reading preferences. I really enjoyed it though. Quite well done for a quick short story. I could see it in a series. Maybe one of these plants given to an abused woman and her jerk boyfriend ends up as fertilizer. Or two room mates bring one home from vacation and have to learn how to 'take care' of it properly. Thanks for the read.

Hate to think what her bed is looking like, or even what is left of it. Some springs and polyester strips. If it corrodes cotton, remember that many items contain cotton including bedding.

Is there another story cumming with a female plant?

I am considering two or three follow-up stories to this one, one of which includes a female version of the plant. Another may end up as part of my "Cheating Zone" series.

Intriguing 5 stars

I'm glad I finally read this chapter of The Plant as it shed information on the progress of some parts of the Where No One Has Gone Before story line. Anyone who is reading this story needs to share time with some of the other writings from ST1956 that he identifies in his introductions.

Different but very enjoyable. Now, on to the next story.
