There was a polite knock on the door. It was opened by Rachel's hand. Lucy stood outside, and her eyes instantly jumped over Rachel's shoulder, straight to Samantha. Rachel could see it. "That's the last time. I swear to you, it was our last goodbye. It will never happen again," Rachel said.

Lucy didn't say anything.

"Her life is in your hands, literally. If he ever hears, she's dead. I'm going to pester Levant for a third child. I would like you to be the egg donor," Rachel said, raising her eyebrows slightly. "It's going to be his child. Would you prefer a son? He will want for nothing: the best schools, the best opportunities. He will have everything. Levant wants his son to be president. We both know he can do it. You will see him grow; you've seen Levant around Beth. What would you call him?"

Lucy paused, her eyes calculating.

"I've been feeding Beth while my dress was cleaned. Where is Beth?" Rachel asked.

Lucy straightened up and nodded. "With the crystal healing therapist, having her chakras aligned. She's been sleeping, and the therapist is there watching over her for free."

Rachel walked over to Samantha. "Thanks for saving the dress. I'm feeling so much better," she said aloud. Then Rachel leaned in. "Get the fuck out of here now. Hide, hide where they can't find you. I'll let you know. Turn your phone on every night at midnight. If I use the name Ariadne, then I'm being forced to write this. Be safe."

"I'll be with Kayla at Jessey K's," Samantha whispered. It was a good choice. Samantha had visited Jessey K's enough to porn jewellery for the Save hunter fund. Rachel mused for a second about it being called "Kayla's at Jessey K's". Samantha had said Jessey K and his sister and a third large man known only as Washington had a flat near the block.

"Good," Rachel said. "Stay safe. I'll let you know. Goodbye. I don't know when we can see each other again."

Before Samantha could say anything, Rachel turned.

"Let's get back to the party, shall we?" Rachel said to Lucy as she left.

"I'll stay and get stuff cleaned up," Samantha said.

Rachel and Lucy began walking down the corridor together.

"Feeling better?" Lucy said formally.

"Yes, yes, I'm fine. Just something disagreed with me. I was the same when I had Beth, no biggie," Rachel lied.

They reached the elevator, and Lucy pressed the call button. They stood silently for a second.

"Alex," Lucy said. She spoke the word like a single piece of blossom floating by. Rachel looked over.

"I've always thought if I had a son, he would be called Alex," Lucy said.

Rachel smiled. "Alex, nice name... Alex Levant sounds very good. Would you mind if I stole it?"

The elevator arrived with a ping.

"No, Mrs. Levant. Feel free. I'd be delighted," Lucy said, getting into the elevator with Rachel and returning back to the show.
